I have two boys...if they are a representaion of todays youth, they better make more ketchup. Not very technical is it. Tell me why nobody has figured out in a 100 + years how to make ketchup as good as heintz? Tell me you can't tell the difference when a resturant fills a heintz bottle with some other brand...youbetcha

This stock is recession proof. Besides have you been to a restauraunt where Heinz wasn't on the table?

This stock will grow steadily, just at a slower pace than the overall market because of the maturity of the company and the commodity nature of its products. An excellent investment for the risk-averse, but not going to beat the S&P.

I'm (unfortunately) a restaurant manager. We go through Heinz ketchup like crazy to people aged 1-90. I imagine the same is true throughout much of the world, at bars, restaurants, ball games and barbecues. The company is solid and the stock is safe. Additionally, you're getting it at a 52 week low and yielding almost 5% down here in the mid 30's!

Very simple; when recession hits, consumer staples vastly outperform the market. Maybe not so good for the long term, but for the next year or so, Heinz will do *relatively* well.

Great company at a good price. Pays a nice dividend, great brand name. Type of company that will still be around in 10-20 years.

No particular mind-blowing insights. Like the slow & steady nature of the business managed by competant managers, particularly in this macro-economic environment. I believe in the brand strength.

HNZ now has a strong board of directors, and excellent management. They pay a heffty dividend and they sell some of the most popular foods around the world as well as in the U.S.

H. J. Heinz Company, along with its subsidiaries, engages in the manufacture and marketing of processed food products worldwide. The company offers ketchup, condiments and sauces, frozen food, soups, beans and pasta meals, infant food, and other processed food products. Note: We all have to eat and unless they find ground glass in a baby food jar this stock is a keeper.
