Another laughable pop on a ridiculous long-term contract that may never come to fruition. Do any of the sheep out there bother to annualize these pumped lump sums across the stated terms? Apparently not.

The Company is a materials science company focused on clean energy technologies.
The renewable energy markets are maturing quite rapidly.
The solar sector, in particular, is showing signs of advancement as clear leaders are emerging every day. What we're seeing is a shift in the way the market as a whole views this industry.

Hoku Scientific, Inc., incorporated in March 2001, is a materials science company focused on clean energy technologies. The Company focuses on the design and development of fuel cell technologies, including its Hoku membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) and Hoku Membranes. The Company's three business units are: Hoku Materials, which manufactures polysilicon, a key material used in PV modules; Hoku Solar, assembles and installs its own brand of PV modules, and Hoku Fuel Cells, which is company's fuel cell business. In May 2006, it announced its plans to form an integrated photovoltaic (PV) module business, and its plans to manufacture polysilicon, a primary material used in the manufacture of PV modules, to complement its fuel cell business. As of March 31, 2007, the Company's customers have not commercially deployed products incorporating Hoku MEAs or Hoku Membranes and the Company has not sold any products commercially.

Hoku MEAs

MEAs are an integral component of proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells. Hoku MEAs are designed for the residential primary power and commercial back-up power markets, which the Company refers to collectively as the stationary market and for the automotive market. Hoku MEA products can be manufactured in three, five or seven layers. In these products, the catalyst is applied directly to the Hoku Membranes.

Hoku Membranes

The key component of Hoku MEA is the Hoku Membrane, which is a PEM made from one of the Company's hydrocarbon-based polymers. The Company's primary focus is developing completely non-fluorinated polymers for its Hoku Membranes. The Company has also developed custom versions of Hoku Membrane that incorporate small amounts of fluorine into its hydrocarbon-based polymers. Hoku Membranes have been designed for PEM fuel cell applications in the stationary and automotive markets. The key technologies underlying Hoku Membranes are monomer design, polymer synthesis and membrane fabrication. Monomers are the molecular components of polymer-based membranes. A monomer is created through the synthesis of chemical compounds.

I don't see how Hoku can keep weathering years of not making a decent profit, soley based on future "long term contracts" that may never happen. They seem to be putting all their eggs into the Alternative Energy basket. While doing so may be ethical, it certainly is not profitable.

There is consolidation of the stock price for several days now. It’s already in the overbought and MACD going up and crossing over. Although there is also a potential that it can go more lower near the $7 but it seems the $8 is its favorite price to bounce up as shown in previous signals of the chart. Also money flow continued to rise which indicates more buying. Overall there is a bullish sentiment. But I will only have a 3 week or few months pitch on this outperform call.
