I've walked through my local Mall HOTT and never understood why this store had ANY allure, as it clearly has an EXTREMELY LIMITED target audience...Not just young, but one that caters to an old rock, goth style fashion.

It has very limited appeal, let alone, quality.

Black T-shirts with ironed-on rockers, along with outdated posters is out. Especially in this economic climate.

This is a retail youth oriented clothing line that I have watched (and invested it for several yrs.
They always seem to be ahead of the curve on new styles, ect. It does ebb and flow with the seasons and spring is upon us.

P/E too high, low profit margins. Priced to fall.

Niche, outplayed, subject to the vagaries of the fashion world, need a catalyst but unlikely this quarter

They just got panned on South Park. I suggest that this means HOTT's popularity is at an apex. All downhill...

Hott Topic showed steadily increasing earnings, and my son wanted me to buy this, because we bought DIS for his mother. And they have t shirts with old band like led Zepplin, and I thought maybe the parents will start buying the t shirts too. I bought it at 9.60 and it took a 20% nose dive within a week.
