Exactly the type of stock that will perform well as globalization increases. Cheap staples/consumables for convenience and comfort, simple luxuries, and so on. Increasing middle classes in developing countries will be looking for things like this. On top of that, the company is a proven performer, and has excellent revenue and earnings per-employee versus its peers in the market.

We're talking real SPAM here, not stock spam. Anybody that has tasted a SPAMburger at the Fly-By-Night Club in Spenard, Alaska knows what I'm talking about. Hormel has been around for nearly 120 years and has paid a dividend for 81 of those years with a nice history of dividend growth. Revenue per employee beats the industry average by $110,000.00, and net income per employee is almost 10 times the industry average. This is a solid, stalwart of a company that employs folks with a real solid work ethic. I'll keep eating that occasional SPAMburger (slice of SPAM on top of a beef patty, with cheese of course) and if you don't like SPAM, that's OK, chances are you're eating some of the other products in Hormel's pantry (or refrigerator).
