Fuel cells are the most logical emission free source to power our future vehicles. Just about every major auto company has fuel cell vehicles under development and test. Hydrogen is an excellent storage and transport vehicle for power which is why it is so prevalent for powering fuel cells.. It can be created using intermittent sources of energy such as wind power or solar power as well as from electricity or natural gas.

Hydrogen is the future. This company, along with Hydrogen Corporation (HYDG) will be the key players in the North American market.

HYGS recently gained the upperhand on the S&P during the passed couple months, in large part, due to the skyrocketing oil price, but also because of realization that alternative energy is a "must" for our future. That said, HYGS is an upstart, which may or may not have staying power in this volatile and higly-competitive market, so I'm curbing my enthusiasm to an outlook of a few weeks...for now.

A leader in hydrogen fuel cells. Near profitability. Stand alone power systems. They just opened a hydrogen fuel station in California with GM and Shell.

Hydrogen isn't a viable source of energy. It is, at best, a medium for transporting energy from one place to another or for making it easier to transport energy in a vehicle or smaller machine/device. Hydrogen requires a good bit of overhead to make, and the electricity used to make it (by separating oxygen and hydrogen in water) is about the same (or greater) as the energy contained in the hydrogen. So any company claiming to produce or be involved in the production of hydrogen as an alternative source of energy is lying to you.

Don't let them pull the green wool over your eyes - today anything with "solar" "bio" "hydrogen" or "green" in its name is the equivalent of ".com" in 1999. There are some viable companies working in that space, but it's going to be painful sorting them out from the fakers and liars. During the shakeout everyone will be hurt.

prior to difficulties with their On-Site Generation division, HYGS was the only fuel cell company among BLDP, FCEL, PLUG to have positive gross margins. Commercialized stationary power applications and material handling (fork lifts) for early adopter markets, to complement generation and test equipment. Among the fuel cell companies, seems relatively integrated. Recently received one of the largest order agreements: up to 500 fuel cells in a deal with APC for backup power installations.

Battered by problems in On-Site generation unit that (apparently) preceded merger with Stuart Energy, might be set up for a nice recovery over the next year if problems adequately addressed and revenue growth continues.

With the new contract with FTA which already has buses running in AZ and CA should show an intrest to new investors and the Manufacturing industry. They now have contracts with Ford and oversea countries. With a steady growth in the next year.

HYGS has the same financial situation as any other company in the alternative / renewable energy field: Terrible. Sure, they have some cash on the balance sheet, but that won't be able to keep them above water.
