They are cheaters and sooner or later they will pay for it.

Not much room to expand, this company will gain, but dont expect it to beat the market any time soon

I love IBM, but it's already priced high. Once it breaks 130 dollars, they need to think about a split to keep investors excited. Otherwise, this is an underperform stock.
Recs
It's shot up to it's recovery price before the recovery is evident. Plus look at those price to books, are you kidding me?

I don't trust these guys.
Did you know they provided the mainframe computers for Nazi Germany to run those Holocaust Death Camps!?! Well, now you know.
Short!

IBM's acquisition of SPSS was a bad move. Management is on a quest to find El Dorado, magical analysis software that will tell the future. Many have tried and failed.

technology consulting industry. Sold short IBM today in real life portfolio @116.3/share today.

This company needs a T in its ticker symbol for Turdmuffin. It has EPS but look at the assets minus liabilities. This stock truely does not deserve the lovin its been afforded. Now an accountat may argue with you that it has allot of assets that have been written down but my god they been around forever and thats the net after all the outsourcing and such?

IBM is high risk. Outlook and forecast is little. Uncertainty. Bombshell is waiting.

IBM lists unfunded pension liabilities on its balance sheet seperately from "other liabilities" which is unusual.
With the unfunded albatross hanging around at 13bil in 2006 they borrowed money and bought back expensive 6bil of shares.
In 2007 they did the same thing but the shares were even more expensive, 18bil.
In 2008 they did the same thing again except the unfunded liabilities wer 18bil, and the share buyback 10bil at an even higher share price.
Then the share price collapsed.
They recently announced a 5% increase to the dividend, and 3bil more to the share buybacks currently in place for a total aproved 2009 buyback program of 6bil or so.
So rather than pay down debt of 33bil or fund the pension of 18 bil, the executives would rather borrow to drive up the share price.
If the relocation to cheap labor countries does not make an awfully big difference, then tomorrows new executives will be explaining they were not at IBM when the bad executive decisions were made.

While it should do OK, it does not offer the growth potential of other stocks.

of the big dogs in tech sector - IBM is on top of my list to sell. valuation levels (pe, price/(current assets-debt), price/equity) indicate this to be quite expensive.
Recs
Their products suck. They can't even get their own employees to use their software.

Bear Market

The recovery in the market will primarily be led by small to medium cap. stocks including most of those in the S&P 500. Although I expect IBM to be a buy at the current price, I still don't think that it will outperform the 500 index.

IBM only thinks about the excutive(they make BIG money). They alway look to reduce the little guy that is making them the money. IBM is a big BOYS CLUB it will catch up to them sooner then they think.
