Keeps winning these royalty disputes and others fall in line.

a $1.61 billion market-cap company that licenses its patents to cellphone makers for the design of chips that power the phones

Read about IDCC at wirelessledger.com. Barrons' just identified IDCC as the next Qualcomm.
I believe they are right!!!!

Major patent holder in 2G, 2.5G, 3G and beyond wireless technology. Patents upheld at IDCC; major players (Nokia, Samsung, others) have acknowledged patents and begun to pay IDCC. Moto still to go. Foward agreements not in place yet holding the stock back - when they occur, IDCC rockets.
Recs
IDCC is making some major headway in getting companies to pay for their product - their 3G standard is going to bring in lots of profit.

if the samsung payoff works out this is a company with ~$10 of cash per share, very valuable patents in 2G and 3G wireless, and a well run management team. i'm astonished that this stock hasn't soared even more in price and i can only guess it has to do with technophobia or a short term view of gains.
Recs
several largr patent infringement awards for their technology. Liklihood of several large licenseing agreements for their 3g technology

The likes of Nokia might either legally fight IDCC better after their 2G experiences, OR simply cave in. That summarizes the risk involved in this stock. IDCC's balance sheet holds the card (i.e. no debt) I think in all this. I suspect this pick is more of a hit-or-miss category.

enormous potential in the intellectual property area for communications technologies/2/3G wireless

recent sudden drop, yet with revenue from nokia and new settlement from samsung, influx of revenue should greatly affect the bottom line in the near term. (especially)

Yesterday (09/05) I sold 40% of my position in IDCC in the "real world".
Although at times I miss out on additional gains, I usually sell my positions when they approach their 52 week high, and repurchase them when they rebound either at or near their 52 week low.
IDCC has done very well for me this year. At $35.00 I will sell the balance of the position.

Because it has performed well since I picked it in April of 2006.

With litigation out of the way...set to follow in QCOM's footsteps.

Totally cool technology.

Balance sheet looks great. Stock just continues to climb. The need for this wireless tech is sky high and interdigital seems to be beating the rest of the market. If you've got it, hold it.
