Hold on to your socks people this is the wave of the future. Apple buys Imax and features the best technology availible in a movie theatre. Theaters become their showrooms for online purchases.

Recent contracts to install IMAX in multiple theaters around the country. Also, the digital IMAX standard has better margins and is easier to maintain the older IMAX systems.

Blockbuster movies coming out this summer. Even in a slumping economy people will pay to see the summer hits on an IMAX screen.

Mismanaged in the past, but think about the moat this company will have when sucessfull. Large capital expidenture to get in, exsisting deals and economy of scale with various retails outlets, co-investment with some of those retail outlets, a brand name that customers understand means big huge screen with top-notch sounds and graphics. Think big huge moat with crocodiles, swimming in toxic sewege in the moat, once this company begins to turn a profit I cant see any viable competitor emerging because the barriers to entry will simply be to high at that point.

I like that they are continuing to expand their base of theaters.

"...IMAX said it has signed a joint-venture agreement with Regal Cinemas to install 31 IMAX digital projection systems at Regal locations in 20 major U.S. markets."

I love the IMAX experience, taking films to a new level with new technology. The 3D is fantastic and worlds beyond the old blue and red glasses. I think IMAX is positioning itself for a great couple of years and into the future. As technology improves, with the ability to convert regular films into large format IMAX, this stock should soar.

Since Dolby Digital not much has changed in the movie industry. Unles you call smaller theaters a change, I'll stay home in my own home theater.

It's easy to pirate movies, it's not easy to pirate the IMAX experience. As movies are becoming increasingly filmed completely digitally, the cost of creating an IMAX films drops to nearly insignificant levels. There is also incentive for movie producers to make movies for IMAX, as people are still willing to pay for this experience, because it's so much more than you get 'after it comes out on dvd'.
Also, recent deals to build a bundle of theaters in South America and China and recent move to cheaper, better projectors will help. Everything about this one looks good.

When you go to the IMAX theater its an experience. They stimulate your senses more than a typical theater and make it so you feel like your in the movie. You can buy a bootleg of a regular movie or even download it, but you cant with an IMAX movie.

Maybe if you have your own IMAX.

The MPAA loses billions of profit by people watching reproduced movies. When they realize the benefits of using IMAX technology (if they haven't already), IMAX theaters will be the standard in at least 20 years.

IMAX is on in case you haven't noticed. The problems of the recent past have all been resolved and the company has a solid plan and is ready to take off. They continue to break showing records and have secured many lucrative contracts including one with AMC that is worldwide. All the big name titles have been released on the format (Spider-Man, Superman) which only helps to spread the name. In the next five years we all will be watching the blockbusters on gigantic 3-D screens and the fortunate few will be enjoying the profits.

Leasing a lot of 3-D projectors to a lot of movie theaters. 3-D technology is promising since the hannah montana movie was a big hit, and U2 live concert got some great reviews. Its a way to bring back movie goers to the movie theaters again.

IMAX is finally in a place to position the big screen both domestically and internationally. There consumer base has demonstrated confidence with multiple contracts for new screens. With demonstrated ability to fulfill existing contracts, over the next year, this stock will increase. The existing movement indicates the market is already watching.
