Immersion Corp (IMMR)

CAPS Rating:
*****

The Company develops, manufactures, licenses, and supports a range of hardware and software technologies and products that enhance digital devices with touch interaction.

Rating a stock in CAPS consists of three components:

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other players to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

I changed my IMMR timeframe to 1 year as part of the Fooligan thing that you may have heard about. It's all of the players with a rating of 99.00 or higher who have made at least one pick in the last 60 days. Well, they want us to vet the Rule Breakers subscription service picks, so they gave us a 1...More

This company has a solid chance of getting their hands into EVERYTHING. As new technology develops in numerous fields we will see IMMR involved somehow.

Touch screens are big, and getting bigger in the future. There are a lot of companies that do this, but I think this one has a good chance.

For anybody who was more impressed with the multitouch computer interface in Minority Report than with the plot of the movie, this company is an easy pick.

In a way this is like a biotech with 100 compounds in stage 3 trials. Some their technologies will change things drastically, and then we'll see the big payoff. Definately for the patient.

This has to be the most volatile stock I own in my CAPS portfolio other than Ford and Sirius. I think all these companies are great long-term but have a near-term that is incredibly horrible. A great strategy would be to play off of this volatility by buying on dips. I would pick up IMMR from anywhere between the 5-9 dollar range, Ford from 4-7, and Sirius from 1-3. I think each of these could easily double and then some in a few years at these prices, especially if you buy on dips. Don't ever buy a stock on a day when it's up anyways for that matter... Buffett doesn't even factor the "macro" into any of his decisions, day-to-day blips, and he buys for the very long-term. Imagine if he did factor some of these things in...

Beat this Stock

Clicking "Beat this Stock!" will bring you to a company with a higher rating than the one you're currently viewing.

Even though CAPS shows only one- to five-star rankings, behind the scenes, all companies in CAPS have a distinct numerical ranking. In other words, there is a No. 1 stock in CAPS and a worst-ranked stock in CAPS. When you arrive at the top-ranked stock, clicking "Beat this Stock!" will cause the page to refresh.

That is, until there is a new No. 1 stock!
