Yeah. Huh huh. Yeah. Lasers. Huh-huh. Huh. Okay, so maybe this isn't Monkey's most sophisticated analysis, but all you need to know is that the industrial world is using lasers more and more and IPGP is the go-to laser maker, having invested a stupid large amount in R&D over the years; sometimes it's stocks out of the typical Wall Street crowd's purview that quietly end up generating lots of bananas. IPGP, if you're reading this, can you make a laser that looks like a banana and you squeeze it to turn the laser on and off? That would be tremendous.

Company that's been on my radar for a long time - it over-corrected at the beginning of the year IMO. I like under $70 as a buy-in point.

Multiple and growing applications for high powered fiber lasers and no one else has the resources, knowledge and research capabilities to compete at their level.

Their products will become essential for modern engineering and production of vehicles. Their fiber-optic lasers are faster, cleaner, and cheaper than the outdated CO2 lasers. I see a profitable future in this company. I agree with the users below. Once Europe gets back up, they'll be looking for newer technology.

Weakness in Europe has been affecting the stock for about the past year. In the latest quarterly earnings there was an issue with bookings versus billings which caused the revenue to be down slightly. I think in the next quarter we will see an uptick as well as an uptick in price. Their fiber lasers are both low-cost and more efficient than other types of lasers and I think there are still tremendous growth opportunities.

Classic niche dominator. High returns on invested capital, solid growth prospects, and management is continuing to invest in the business. Stock price has taken a bit of a hit since mid-February due to an earnings miss, but I think this is an attractive entry point for a long-term investment.

I love this stock, http://financials.morningstar.com/ratios/r.html?t=IPGP&region=USA&culture=en-us
the growth of per share free cash flow, the return on invested capital, the top line growth

I will admit I do not really understand the business, other than it get the job done with less power. I believe SwiftTuttle when he says that this company ebbs and flows with the macro economy. It mostly sells to manufacturers. How big is the market? I do not know, but I am willing to find out. I am invested, and I am continuing to read about this one. If it drops I hope to have the courage to add more.
