Undevalued company even after the price run up. Future growth could be limited however, so this mayed up being a short term holding.
Recs
Will go down after November

A well positioned underdog

This account tracks the less exciting stocks from my watch list - companies that are easy to understand with clean balance sheets and good track records in relatively straight-forward industries.

I like this stock. The company is showing me some good practices - especially by paying off their debt load. (By paying off a good chunk in 2nd qtr, they've really improved their interest coverage ratio.) I believe they are undervalued by the market. The fact that they pay a dividend is nice too.
It may not outperform the S&P for a few months, but I believe that it will in the long term.

If this thing gets any cheaper, I might just cough up the dough and buy the whole company...

Phosphates are necessary for large scale fertilization, and limited supply. Screened out this stock from

HG pick and I agree. Beaten too much due to the bad economy. Low PE, Growth potential, way off 52 week high. I think its a good time to get in.

BAIN CAPITAL HAS BEEN A BIG SELLER OF THE REMAINING SHARES OWNED – RECENTLY 7mm at $18.6 average price.
products cover a broad range of applications including water, paper and metal treatment, agriculture, electronics, textiles, tablets, meat preservation and detergents. For example, specialty phosphates act as flavor enhancers in beverages, leavening agents in baked goods and cleaning agents in toothpaste.
Excellent business model diversity in offerings:
26% food & beverages
26% detergent & personal care
19% fertilizer
19% industrial
6% pharma/drugs
4% oral care
This company is relatively unknown and small enough to be avoided by the large funds. They work in a niche segment of the chemicals market and would be a strategic acquisition target for a larger company such as Dow Chemical.
Bain capital investors, llc has been a large drag on the shares by dumping shares since the IPO. This came to an end with the sale of 7.5 mm shares after IPHS reported a stellar earnings report this past month.
IPHS guided to flat to up 5% - where analysts are predicting upwards of a 30% drop. Investors are all but assured to surpass current analyst estimates next quarter.
Upside is large for continued growth even in a depressed economic condition. The potential further deterioration of the US dollar (imo) will allow IPHS to offer their product in other areas outside the US.
Debt has been greatly reduced in short order and should continue to be the top priority of management.
The company is trading near liquidation value – even including the current debt load. (*lots of depreciated assets)
*note - long IPHS at 11.50 and doubled the position at 15.

IPHS is in a unique industry with strong demand for their products. The company appears to be overlooked. Your recommendation should help catch some attention. It did me.

Still trading at a decent P/E @ 10.6. Big player in a specialty market with a ~40% market share in North America. Phosphates produces through IPHS's subsidiary are used in anything from foods and beverages to water and metal treatment to detergents and fertilizers. Ample room for growth as economy expands.

dividend, LOW P/E, lots of room to expand multiple

This article brought this to my attention. http://www.fool.com/investing/small-cap/2009/08/21/the-most-undervalued-stocks-in-the-market.aspx Sales are down over last year but, that can be said of most companies right now. I do however, feel that there are plenty of positives that say I should pick it. Considering a P/E of 2.10, it has a lot of upward potential. They also currently pay out a 3.60% dividend. Considering that their market cap is just under $400m, I am even more impressed with that dividend.
