small caps seem to be struggling vs. the SPY index, could be a sign that the march rally is ending.
Recs
Back in after sell off
Recs
At the beginning of the 8 bull markets that have occurred during the last 50 years small caps have produced much better returns than the S&P 500.
Recs
The small caps should do well with global economy recovery
Recs
small caps will outperform following recession
Recs
We are not out of the woods yet. The small caps have done very well on speculation that we are on our way out of the recession, but a lot of the weak companies in IWM will bite the dust before this is over.
Recs
Small caps lead the way when economic growth returns. Good long term pick.

nice small caps... great rep.

Small Cap ETF

One of the best performing ETF's I can find for 5 years, 3 years, one year, YTD, 3 mos or even 1 month. It has outperformed the S&P for all of those periods, so I bought some today. In an unperdictable market like this, I'll take this performance and the broad diversification.
Recs
current market dynamics are bias to benefit smaller caps.

IWM is an ETF by IShares. IWM tracks the Russell 2000 Index. For those who do not know the Russell 2000 represents the approximately 2,0000 smalleset companies in the Russell 3000 index. The Russell 2000 is comprised of the small captilization section of the U.S. equity market. This ETF has a very low expense ration aroud 0.20%. I like this ETF because of its history. The Russell 2000 on average over a long period of time has produced better returns than the S&P 500. I believe that the Russell 2000 should be a part of most investors' portfolio's. The exact amount would depend on many factors including risk tolerance, time until the money is needed, return needs amoung others.
Recs
should be in mid $80
Recs
Historically small stocks have outperformed the broader market - especially after economic contraction as we are currently experience
Recs
Double short the RUS 2000
Recs
On a market decline, the small caps will likely lose the most but, given the tight capital markets and projected slow growth in the US, they are likely to grow slower in an up market in the short term. So either way, this looks like a good CAPs pick (or a short hedge)
Recs
Over the medium term, small caps have more opportunity to grow quicker in % terms due to their size.
