Buyout offer@2.0. New governing rules might allow this offer to pass at current or slightly increased price.

LJ International Inc. has morphed from a mining-manufacturing-wholesaling operation to a fast growth retail operation in China. Very conservative fiscal policy--little long term debt--3.0 current ratio--market price ($3.09) is almost 20% below book value ($3.84). Guidance (conservative in recent past) projects 2011 earnings at $.49 per share (PE=6.3). Great risk reward ratio---my forecast $4.65 by 12-31-2011.

Stuck in a trading range, not getting the love of major buyers for the forseeable future.

Jade is for China what Tiffany's is for the Untied States.

Needs to find its feet after some serious overbuying and overselling following recent earnings. But, it 2007 earnings are as expected, the stock should see 6-6.50 - which would give a nice 25% return.
Recs
Short term may be rough going but will surpass previous high once financials are settled.

JADE is upgrading its auditor from a regional firm to KPMG, a Big 4 international firm. Once the audit is complete and JADE brings its SEC filings up to date, this stock will soar. Companies that UPGRADE auditors are not fudging their books; rather, JADE management is preparing a strong foundation for future growth and financial integrity. In the meantime, it's just short-term growing pains while KPMG gets things up to speed.

Good fundamental. The stock is hurt by delay filing.

I think 2008 Olympic games in China will multiply it's Profits and in 2008 I am hoping that this stock will shoot up

Unloved stock makes comback after overselling on the market due to news of delayed financials filing.

This stock got too beaten down for the news that came out. Don't forget, this is the Year of the Pig. It's supposed to be great good luck to be born in the Year of the Pig, and lots of folks in the Orient give little golden piggy banks to newborns for luck.... Especially in the year of the Pig. JADE sells some of those piggy banks.
At least that's what I read from a source I trust pretty well.

This company is catering to the growing chinese middle class with it's line of jewelry. Future cash flows look like they will grow quickly over the next few years.

Well-positioned, globally active purveyor of bling
Recs
JADE is a play on retail jewelry in China and mass marketed jewelry in the U.S. Insiders control the company, and as an old annual report said, they don't guarantee to act in the interests of shareholders. The stock gained attention this year after languishing for many years at lower levels. It is a secular growth story on China's middle class and the tourist trade in major Chinese cities. The downside is that if JADE doesn't get mass market orders from its U.S. bulk purchasers, the stock price could take a big hit. That is a possibility if the U.S. economy slows. The stock is speculative, but seems to be competitive in its market.

Perhaps the best jewelry play there is. Expanding in China and getting ready for the 2008 Olympics.
Also the owner is from Brazil and therefore will be expanding in Latin America.
Recs
Good management. Strong growth.

This is a small-cap with a lot of room to move.
