This equity has shown up on my contrarian value screen for about a month. I decided to open up a position by selling the Sep $9 puts which should net me about a 30% annualized return if they expire. If not, I'll acquire shares at $8.55.

JNS is down 33% from its 52W high, but up approx. 150% from its March 2009 low.
At the moment, I like JNS' chart a lot.
My kind of value play.

Janco investigated. Denver office got Level 3 networking.
Janco Partner is on the dole to upgrade Level 3 Comunications stock?
Conflict of interest?
Janco Partner upgraded but didn't say Level 3 Communications stopped the integration of networks to save Quarterly losses.
Janco Partner upgraded but didn't say Level 3 communication is letting Juniper M160 routers go into End Of Life Cycle to save money so Quarterly losses look less.
Janco Partner states less Quarterly losses so upgrade. Janco Partner doesn't say this is because the integration of the 6 purchased companies has stopped CONTRADICTORY to what stockholders have been told.

With a P/E of 22.89 that is well over the indusrty average of 16.95 this stock seem best of bread.

Its back! Janus Capital once again looks like the Janus we saw back in the early part of this decade with revenue growth of 17-20% and earnings growth looking solid as ever. They are trading at a forward price to earnings of 23 and technically they are showing a favorable uptrend that looks eerily similar to a huge rounding bottom. If this pattern persists the stock should find itself above $50 within 12-18 months. I feel Janus should and could be trading at 28-31 times future earnings.

Valuation much higher than peers. Turnaround in flows is more than priced into current stock price. Either JNS valuatiton will decline or peer group (US asset managers) will increase. JNS is similar to AVZ but about one year ahead in its turnaround, yet valuation is 50% higher for JNS.
Risk: Continued strong momentum, especially if the overall market continues to be strong. Take over speculation surfaces from time to time.

Go to IMMFA. They released mid-day (Wed Jan 10, 2007) statement saying UK FSA intends to treat institutional money market funds as marketable assets for banks that use the liquidity mismatch regime. This will translate into higher MMF sales. Legg Mason is a player, and so too are BLK, JNS, and GBL. I think with energy less and less in favour, MMFs may have a good quarter on that backing as well as PMs decide where to deploy there capital. In the meantime it will be parked in MMFs. enjoy the coming quarter in these management firms to reap these benefits.
