JPM has not moved up with the market in the last cycle. Buy for the ride, and the dividend, don't be afraid to take some profit and sell.

JP MORGAN CHASE will grow as the economy recovers, companies merge and acquire, the real estate market finally recovers, and commercial banking benefits the recovery of the middle class with new jobs.

Their assessment of risk and economies of size seem to ensure superior returns on investment over the long run.

CEO Jamie Dimon makes me a believer.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/usnews/themanwhocouldsalvagewallstreet
Here's an excerpt:
(How is Dimon different from other Wall Street CEOs? I was talking to Warren Buffett about Jamie, and he said, "Banking's not that difficult. You just need to be a banker, and Jamie's a banker." All these other guys weren't being bankers, they were being gamblers. There's a great line from Andrew Ross Sorkin's new book, Too Big to Fail. At some point during the crisis last year, an executive from Morgan Stanley gets a call from Jamie and goes to talk to John Mack [Morgan Stanley CEO]. He says that he just got a call from Jamie Dimon, who asked if he can do anything to help. The executive says, "Jamie is always hanging around the hoop. You know Jamie's saying, 'Let's make friends with these guys before I eat them.' "His entire career he's played it conservatively so he can pounce on opportunity. All these other guys were gamblers. Bear Stearns. Lehman. That's fine, but Dimon was the guy standing around the hoop waiting for the ball.)
Good management is always a strong factor with me.

Don't really know just hope that it does. Must have something going for it with the purchase of WAMU and still being in the game

JPM is poised to breakout beyond its 18m high of 52.63. Its competitors are still weak, the ones left standing that is. The Bear Stearns acquisition for pennies on the dollar is already showing results in prime brokerage, an area that JPM had little presence. Recent earnings were strong and will continue to be strong as JPM becomes more efficient in utilizing Bear's old prime brokerage unit and integrating the Wash Mut purchase. Should reach new alltime highs in the next 6 months.

This bank has weathered the storm and been able to lend to others in the process. While they are monolithic, and that scares me, they nonetheless are transitioning their Wamu banks well and investing in improving the look of the former branches. They don't use "gimmicks" with credit card customers and people appreciate straightforwardness!

The stock is among the best financial stocks, and the financials are still much lower in valuation than the S&P 500 over the last decade.

Probably the strongest of the big banks. Very well positioned to pick up business as weaker competition struggles just to survive.

Only decent game in town when it comes to US banks. Think they have the ability to capitalise on this in the coming 2 to 3 years.
