Kraft is a solid company and has managed well on it's on after spin off from Altria (MO). Good consistent products with customer following that keeps coming back.
During a time of Recession I look for stocks with a good dividend and a consumable that you use up and HAVE TO REPLACE. Kraft brands are well priced in the market which means consumers are likely to buy these products when NECESSARY.

A solid company particularly for a weak market.

New CEO plans to improve operational performance and will result in improved profitability, which is not being reflected in the current price of the shares. US brand portfolio is capable of growing sales at 3% a year over the long term, driven by product innovation in growing categories such as convenience meals. New sales model should drive more effective merchandising....

I think Kraft is one of the handful of companies that will outperform the S&P in the near-term. I don't like the processed food that they sell, but it is a lot cheaper than the unprocessed produce and meats, so consumers will cling to these foods as they tighten their belts. Kraft is a winner.

Oversold, great dividend yield, Dow, possibly recession proof! Cant ask for more in this environment. Their higher Long term debt/ equity is a concern, but not too worrisome.

High quality products with great history and prestige.

Commodity prices going down will result in unexpected increases in gross margins on KFT products.

Solid company in a business that can only grow. Growing food is never as profitable as packaging and mechandising

What's not to like? Brand names we grew up with and want to share with our kids. Reasonably priced with strong brand equals years of steady to moderate growth potential.
Recs
Defensive pick, folks got to eat even in bad times. Should hold up well and collect the dividend waiting for the upswing.

Kraft is a global business selling packaged food. Kraft is a spinoff from Altria. The stock has been solid and will continue to be so until people stop eating. It also offers us a nice dividend. That's worth eating.
Recs
Low debt, good dividend, and people still eat.

Local Company, with rising food prices, people will try to make cheap meals. It's also good to support local companies because it will then in turn benefit community.
