The Company may not even survive if we go through a second recession.

There is less momentum, less volume, and less buying going on. We are in the last part of this rally.

The 1929-1930 equity rally (coming out of The Great Depression) lasted 147 days and the market was up 46%. It has been the same amount of time since the March, 2009 low and we are up about the same percentage. It’s déjà vu (paramnesia), so prepare for a drop of about the same percentage (85%).

Growing company with lots of room to grow, smart advertising and a high-profit business model.

With the stock trading closer to it's high of over 17 and the lessening of the economy, frugality is going to be important to the consumer and while new car sales continue in a dire slump, used car sales are up. The no haggle, pricing and fact that it's one of the best companies to work for as rated by Fortune Magazine tells me that there is excellent management structure in place.

This is a total long term play. Economy will turn around and this company has a killer business plan. Once consumers start to purchase cars again, they will come to Carmax to do it.

Hopes of TALF and other gvt actions won't help auto sales much, and will be less of a help to used car sales

No bargaining just a higher price than you can get anywhere else. I don't understand. If anybody wants to pay a lot for a used car I've got a couple I'll let you have for the ridiculously high Kelly Blue Book price that Carmax references.

Let's try this whole Buffett thing again. Actually, I think the odds are good that the recession will be long enough to benefit used car companies, especially the best used car company around.

Credit issues will hurt all of the auto sellers; KMX is a good company, but they will all feel the pain. This stock was around $1 per share in 2000 - it's probably headed there again before going up.

Sounds awful, but when GM, Chrysler and Ford are no longer making new cars, where do people get their cars? It will take quite a long time for the foreign auto makers to ramp up production. So where to you buy a car in the mean time? CarMax!
