Similar market to LAD which has been a great investment.

Great business model. Am curious to see whether Craigslist is a headwind in the long-run though.

Seems like the wave of the future in buying and selling used cars is rolliing in and I want to be riding this wave. Also, it's a good time to buy it. It's down from its highs for no meaningful reason -- probably not based on any bad news within the company. Seems low risk to me.

CarMax is going to make an honest woman out of used car salesmen.

Just sold at CarMax. It was such a great experience, I understand why they are doing well now. I didn't get it before. Now I do.

This ones a gamble but I like the business model, the inventory concerns me and the debt on the books of brick and mortar.

From 2012 to 2013 Cash Flow statement as reported by MF

Inventory increase up 988%
Receivables up 155%

Net Cash from Continuing Ops down 1,254%

I understand vehicles sales is inherently a business that tends to carry high inventory, but YOY this trending bodes poorly as an investment.

I think I'll pass on this one.

All their numbers look good, but they missed expectations by a penny. This stock is making good money and will continue to do so. Customers I know speak favorably of their experiences at KMX.

Love niche companies like this. This stock has been a solid performer. Probably won't beat the S&P 500 by much.

CarMax is riding the wave of exhausted consumers with tired vehicles by getting a premium for recent used cars. They have accomplished this by upgrading customer service in a sector famous for having none...and reshaping the battered image of the used car salesperson.

Lots of room for growth and no major competitor. Have you seen ads for any other national used car dealerships on TV recently?

Consumers love shopping at Carmax, and the company has room to double its store count. Plus, it takes around five years for each store to become profitable, which means there's a long highway of growth ahead.

It seems to be growing significantly each quarter and looks to continue on that path as consumers try to update the cars their driving. This trend seems to have a positive runway for at least the next 12 months.
