KONAMI Corp (ADR) (NYSE:KNM)

I don't understand how this company has stayed alive since their severe decline at the end of the SNES era. Metal Gear Solid was a good franchise, but it failed to evolve. I can't remember the last time I saw ANYONE playing DDR.

Looks good on paper, however videogames are traditionally a volatile marketplace. Upcoming games are great for the short-term, but I have long-term doubts.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker coming out in early June. Hotly anticipated title with Hideo Kojima at the helm means it can't be bad.

Multifaceted Japanese company involved in gaming machines,video games,IT. Used to pay a dividend,no more. Very diversified into Real Estate,Finance,etc.Seems undervalued,given that they are a Japanese cartel,although not as large as Mitsui or Mitsubishi.You remember Mitsubishi,those wonderful folks who gave you the Zero fighter plane.

While the market has recently punished nearly all video game retailers, supplier, and manufacturers, none have been hit nearly as hard as Konami. Just from looking at the 52-week high (~$33) to it's low (~12) is somewhat queasy. That being said, it's slide to the bottom may be over, as it is trading at a more reasonable price given it's revenue. While their FY10 outlook seems a bit on the high side, konami will be a solid hold for the next several years.

With the recession hitting the world, consumers will look into video games for cheap entertainment. Solid track record of hit games since the late 80's

video game market is recession proof. Konami is one of the best developers around; I bet on the fact that they will be able to come up with a new cool license (rip MGS, Kojima will only be consulting in the future..)

DDR will be next big thing to reduce all these obese kids in schools.

I'll follow the herd back into asian gaming stocks, even though my CAPS score was burned trying to pick this before MGS4 came out.

Even I'm excited for this game.

Again, boys know their favorite toys, and who produces the best videogame software.

I've played Konami games since I was a little kid. They're awesome. The Japanese economy may stink but the country puts out good games. I'm going bullish on this one.
