A good buy

Great growth potential.

Passes my 3Rules screen.

Kona has been rather successful in choosing high growth (10% population growth) and higher income (77K) areas for its locations.
The key here is the 'veto vote'. Combining sushi and other foods gives the consumer options. If an individual in one family doesnt like Sushi and the other three do...that one person can choose for other menu items...no veto vote!

Fast grower, excellent niche. Should do great as our increasingly prosperous population eats out more.

the next CAKE.

Wish they had one in California. I'm hopeful it's only a matter of time (hope not too much time). My mouth is watering just looking at their website.

Kona Grill has a fine dining concept. Lots of room to grow for years. Check it out.

Because grilling is neato
Recs
Aggressive retail growth coupled with hungry patrons makes this a winner. We just need to get a few on the East Coast

I admit this was a bit of an impulse buy, and it shows. I like the idea, the theme of the cuisine, and they are certainly adding locations fairly aggressively, but that is not any kind of investment thesis. I purchased off of a dip following a Q report and it has since continued to dip, but I am confident in a future rebound.

great entry point at these prices....had been short on this on since it peaked at 21.38, but at 18 it is time to go long
Recs
No, they aren't profitable yet, but Kona is producing strong cash flow which is fueling growth, going to the bank has not been needed. With $19 million in cash and $3.5 million in debt, the balance sheet is in good shape. Kona has 14 current locations and definitely has lots of opportunity in front of them. From the start of my research, it seems like they have the resources to keep expanding, and if they have the right concept, they will easily outperform the S&P 500 over the long run.
They were founded in 1994.

Concerned about lack of mgmt exp. here. Interim CEO, and small chain. Concept is still relatively unproven in my mind.

Expected to grow over 95% in the next year! Little competition in this type of market. With expansion to the east coast and profitability nearby, Wall Street will catch on and bring this stock up way up.

My favorite long term hold in my portfolio. I would have picked it sooner, but had to wait for it to reach the $100M market cap cut-off imposed by CAPS. That didn't take long.
Go to the website and check out the presentation under the Investor Relations tab.
Last year's double was only the beginning. I am expecting 25%+ returns per year for the next five years.
Recs
great menu, excellent growth, and plenty of room to open new stores.
Recs
Very impressed by the Annual report in which they break down the store sales into lunch, peak dinner, and non peak after hours. and it being roughly 25, 50 and 25% respective split.
Recs
japanese sashimi meets hawaiian grill. high average check due to alcohol & spirits mix. a bit of a speculative stock at the moment due to negative FCF and losses. Only 14 restaurants at the moment, hence the high expectations.
Recs
Huge growth potential of 250+ units. Ground floor opportunity! They locate next to Cheesecake Factories and Chef Chang. Cash on cash unit returns of over 34%. High margin alcohol sales account for 34% of rev. High margin sushi accounts for 20% of rev. Proven in various geographic markets of small and large sizes. Unit level operating margins around 21% beating Cheesecake Factory. Developers are stummbling over themselves to have this unique concept in their locations.
Folks if this is not a Peter Lynch "10-Bagger" I have no idea what is.
