With Natural Gas starting to get appreciated, there are so many plays you can go with, but KWK, one of the cheapest of the bunch with one of the biggest growth rates of 21.8% and a 13x trailing P/E. It's production growth was 161% yr. over yr. It has property in the Barnett Shale and is expanding rapidly there; it also has fields in Texas, Wyoming, Montana and Canada. I feel that on any pullback you should be adding to KWK.

Hey, Caps please correct this stock, it was a 2:1 split, not a 49% loss. Please revalue the original starting price and divide it by 2 thanks.

I'm selecting this company as primarily a natural gas play. Natural gas in North America is going to be in short supply due to difficulties in increasing supply, rapid growth in demand, and the difficulty in ramping up the delivery of substantial quantities of offshore LNG.

Most of the talk about oil production from oil sands and oil shale neglect to take into account the heating requirement that is dependent on natural gas. If electricity production isn't increased enough with coal, it will be done with natural gas.

Near 52 week low, high ratio of All-Star outperforms. I'm loving Oil & Gas stocks lately because they have been trampled down by the market and they should be the first stocks to grow when the world economy recovers. Oil Peak is a beautiful thing if you can use it you your advantage.

Management has a significant stake in the company's stock.

Quicksilver should be able to boost both production and proved reserves year over year in 2009, despite a difficult operating and financing environment. Thanks to the reduced pace of drilling and significant midstream infrastructure investment, Quicksilver should have plenty of midstream capacity in North Texas to accommodate its growth plans there for a couple years.

The silver lining to lower oil and gas prices is reduced oilfield activity. This reduced activity will lower drilling and service costs--thus lowering Quicksilver's costs--and reduce future oil and gas supply growth, eventually contributing to a price recovery. Quicksilver has over 80% of its 2009 and over 60% of its 2010 natural gas production hedged at more than $8
per mcf, a good position given the low current price environment.

One year price target: $15

A massive undervaluation on a fundamentally strong company. Look for a share price of $10-$15 by Summer 2009.

One of my top picks for 2009.

I hate downrating this stock because its KWK ticker symbol is so easy to memorize! But Quicksilver appears to be an almost-vertically-integrated hydrocarbon producer: it explores for and extracts natural gas and crude oil, but only the former is piplined by them.

A couple of things caught my eye. KWK is headquartered in Ft. Worth, not Houston with its beehive of Big Oil, exploration, shipment, refining, ancillary services, marine, power generation etc. etc. etc. [Warning: Once you start researching Energy, you'll be led all over the place, corporately speaking.]

The firm's location Ft. Worth may be a boon because it's harder to get caught up in the Houston hothouse of hydrocarbon. And practically speaking, the firm is much closer to some key nat'l gas fields (such as Anandarko and Ark-La-Tex).

On the other hand, there exists, on paper at least, the possibility of nepotism. The Chairman, CEO are the two Darden bros. And until recently their sister, Anne Darden Self, was CFO.

I'm not saying that KWK doesn't do good work, because it does. But it's easy to troll around the internet and find similar firms that have done a lot better over the past couple of years: exploration firms Anandarko and Apache come to find, and of course Big Oil, and medium-big oil (Marathon, Valero) and gas-oriented companies (CHK for extraction, SE for distribution and sale.) What I would do is put KWK on my watch list with other similar companies and see how the hoss race goes!

The world is not finished growing. It has just taken a breather for now. And KWK will be there producing what the world needs to grow. The fundamentals of this company are excelent. Trading around it's 53 week low and ready move when the economy starts its recovery.

If your waiting to hear when it will happen, you'll already be behind by 20% on KWK.

Happy investing and happy Holidays to all.

Nat gss is undervalued on a BTU basis and is clean. Lots of upside both for the producers and the drillers and piplines.

Least we forget, there is still a natural gas shortage and as long as prices are high this company will make high profits.
