Good Latin American Fund. Their economies are probably better than ours.

Columbus discovered America, I discovered the Latin America Fund! It's amazing how Latin America always manages to overcome a recession quicker than we do...

latin america will recover in the next 5 years, I want a piece of that market

This is one of many of UltraLong's Picks. With the VIX going down when the market goes down, as it has in the past few days, it's time to go long. The bottom is in. The worst sector, banks is being marked-to-profit. It's time to go long. Seeing as how it's easier to just copy UltraLong's picks than create a new list of my own by sorting through an immense quantity of etf providers, I'm joining him since I can't beat him.

This is one of only a handful of ETFs that I've picked for my folio. Found by looking at other members folios in the 99-98 range and sorting by lowest score first. Near 52 week low, this ETF could grow a lot in the next 3 years. Emerging markets are good sectors for long term growth.

Latin America is risky and especially so in this economic climate; which is ever more the reason to buy into this fund. Risk is spread out among several major latin american companies, including RIO and PBR which are both very undervalued right now. And, the dividend and long term capital payouts are huge! If CAPS counted those, I would be way ahead on this pick.
When things calm down a bit I will buy more of this one; holding it for the long term.

On 11/18/08, a 5 star stock that is down more than 60 % from its yearly high but recent momentum.

I love these types of funds. Great way to diversify overall holdings and open portfolio up to potential for large gains. Risk is inherant, especially with a foreign discovery fund, but if you have the ability to wait for long term returns I expect that you will be profitably rewarded with this pick. Central and South America has great potential, seeing the examples of Chile, Panama and Brazil should give some of these other countries a kick in the pants.

Excellent exposure to Latin America and great dividends...

Morgan Stanley's Great CEF of Latin America
Recs
Latin America is outperforming other emerging markets, china, gold, and pretty much anything else right now. This small-cap closed-end fund is a great way to take advantage of the trend without having to micromanage every new development south of the border.
Great P/E, RoE, and the dividend is just plain sexy. Latin America might not be the foremost performer in the market forever, but even if it gets passed it will continue to be a great play.

South America stock do very well, but are more volatile than US stocks. This fund paid nearly a $7 dividend last year, and will outperform the stock market on the dividend alone.

Another one of my "dooms-day" funds. This fund has been doing well recently and I believe will outperform with the up-coming or current downswing in the US markets.

South America is hot

So much room for growth...

With the stock paying out over 20% in dividends it will be hard for the S&P 500 to beat this gem out.

Great buy as it is trading well above it's 50 day and 200 day average. A fantastic pick, with a nice dividend.
