This met a high level screen to indicate a buy and strong outperform against its peers (other tickers in its industry). My 1st version of this spreadsheet devles deep into the company's balnace sheet and recent income statements, combined with other relevant price data for the company including insider/institutional holdings, short interest, debt levels, etc.
Testing capabilities of this 1st version of my automated, valuation spreadhseet matched with my personal criteria and see how it holds up.

Have you seen their new scanners? Every prison, airport and court house in America and around the world will be buying these things. I'd wait for the price to come in a little more, do your research. This stock will fly once we get rid of all the "chicken littles"

L-3 Communications is the 8th largest defense contractor in the world measured by 2007 defense related revenue. 81% of the total revenue in 2007 was related to defense.
Capital expenditure is large, debt levels are not low and return on equity is not extremly high, but LLL has grown shareholder equity at a steady pace in the past and will continue to do so in the future. That is no guarantee that can be given for the 499 other S&P500 companies.

I have worked for this company for over 10 years. Very rare that you see this stock trading in the $60 a share range. In my opinion we have more business right now than we did a year ago when the price per share was significantly higher. Consider getting in now and a 10-20% return is a very probable end result in the next few months.

L-3 won the bid to outfit the Presidents oval office as well as much, if not all the white house. The specifics of the deal were presented an the past years aerospace and defense show, where the L-3 executives were presenting that the company had already won huge gov't contracts to keep them on a steady eye towards most analysts price points ranging from $90 to $100 .
