The Company discovers, develops, manufactures and sells products in one of its business segment of pharmaceutical products to prevent and treat human diseases.

Cheap price for an excellent company. Lilly consistently attracts the best talent because they have a well deserved reputation for treating employees very well. The city of Indianapolis will bend over backwards to keep Lilly in town. I don't worry about patents so much because (as is the case with all pharma) patents are expiring all the time. What's important is Lilly's vast R&D resources and the high quality of employees which serve as a wide moat. Ample dividend; buy and hold.

Solid dividend. News from expiring patents has expired.

The balance sheet hurts my eyes to look at. The numbers are so large I have a hard time wrapping my head around the dynamics of a company of that size. No less a pharmaceutical company. What I do understand is that the dividend is unfazed. It hasn't seen any runs on pricing. In my mind it's not so much a hot stock as a great 5 year CD. Start 34.15 Stop 28.60

Portefeuille 12. Hoping Eli Lilly will benefit if I am correct in my assumption that medical stocks are next up for big gains.

I sometimes wonder how it is that a pharmaceutical stock classifiies as a wide-moat. Yes, they have patent protection, but you know there are many competitors developing new drugs in the same class and the moat will last only as long as the patents (or the tricks that they can use to extend the life of those patents). Maybe "temporary-moat" would be a better term for firms that rely on patent protection for their competitive advantage.
