Will boom if the US is planning action in Iran.
Did so in the past with Irak invasion
In line for government contract awards. Rises up slowly
Recs
No bid contracts, US at war, high tech products--priceless. THis is a $ stock. Defense budget for US is huge.
Recs
GOOD in short and long term

Lockheed Martin is another one of those perfect examples of how slow and steady gets it done. Lockheed is a lock (no pun intended) for getting a 2-3 billion dollar contract every few years. The government will always keep Lockheed busy and management knows how to lead Lockheed in the right direction. Keeping your estimates tamed at a 10-11% average is advisable.

The democrats are coming! Look for cutbacks in defense spending and congressional investigations into current defense contracts.

LMT can only continue to thrive in heavy military and space exploration investing for years to come. It has successfully outperforms the big boys in the industry and made some effective partnerships.

I built a new stock screen using Microsoft Money. Quality Value Picks. I do not discriminate. If it pops up, I'm rolling with it. I trust my fundamental screening criteria.

Don't let the Democrats scare you.. LMT makes a ton of really awesome stuff.

We ARE in the middle of a war - defense spending will stay high for the next several years.
Recs
Nataional Defense spending will be on the rise, LMT, General Dynamics are good stocks to buy. We will always need defense!
Recs
Long term outlook good with incoming contracts.
Recs
Forget the possible Democratic shakeup, Defense will prosper even if there is a pullout in Iraq, and Lockheed-Martin will continue to lead the way. Look for future sales in C-130J's F-22's and F-35's, plus the company has a pipeline of over 3000 contracts. Best of Sector IMO.
Recs
Lockheed Martin has a very strong leadership team, with Bob Stevens as CEO and Chris Kubasic as CFO. Each of them knows how to put numbers on the board while simultaneously managing the human side of the leadership equation. As a team, they are among the best. Under their leadership, the corporation has quietly moved into the position of #1 IT systems and service provider to the U.S. Federal Government, while continuing to maintain an excellent track record in their more well-known and respected defense-related businesses. Moreover, they have been slowly building a strong, relationship-based presence in multiple government markets around the globe. This combination of factors positions the company to do well regardless of the political climate in Washington.
Unless something fundamental changes, Lockheed Martin should consistently outperform the market on a long term basis.
