Bottom-line LodgeNet has always been defined as a pay-per-view provider. Meaning they sell movies to hotel guests. The lion's share of those buys have been adult content movies. Technology has eliminated this revenue stream for LNET. Hotel guests are traveling with portable media devices such as iPods, iPhones and other media devices that allow the guest to connect their own content to the hotel TV. Internet access which is free in many hotel chains allows the guest to access all the porn they want free of charge. So how is LNET going to win the war against technology? My guess is that they will loose. They just continue to capture poorly informed investors with promises of new fangled solutions that won't sell in this economic climate. End result is that "the emperor has no clothes"!

Cheap on a FCF to equity basis. Metrics of hospitality sector improving, so debt is sustainable.

This was a recent pick on Mad Money. By a coincidence, the day before, I heard from a friend of mine that he had been hired by this company in a relatively senior position, for which he was well qualified. In the past, I have made money by investing in companies that hire my well qualified friends. I feel that such companies must have good human resources departments, since they are hiring quality candidates. So far I have a good track record investing in those companies until my friends move on to other jobs. Then I sell, because my friends wouldn't leave a company unless it wasn't being run well or wasn't rewarding its employees effectively for their work. This may sound simplistic, but it has been profitable for me.
