A more efficient manufacturing process made from "Made in Japan" in Yamagata Prefecture moving away from the current imported parts suppliers in China will boost the companies look and bottom line.

Simply because it is a Chinese takeover of I B M.s P.C. division a few years ago... They will do a superior job making this think work where I B M could not ! New laptop appears promising according to a recent article in Barron's ...

I have had a good experiences with the various Lenovo laptops I have used, and tend to have high hopes for companies that make things that work.

Strong enterprise sales - excellent evolution of multi-touch screens

Lenovo has been changing top management. Former CEO an a whole bunch of staff memebers left the company. This means former strategy and/or execution didnt work. Now, everyone has been replaced, but by internal people. not only that, but as Lenovo is trying to get into Consumer, former IBM execs are saving their necks by adopting ideas, killing not aligned executives, and living on others peoples money. This is only act 2 ot the same play. No important IT play, no important outsiders at the comapny since 1 year ago, etc. Get my point?

Chinese company (Legend) that bought IBM hardware (pc, laptop,...) manufacturing to create Lenovo? I'll go with my gut wihtout looking at too many numbers at ratios (except for the basics of course) and say: "I'll buy that for a dollar!" or whatever the current price is at.

I think they make good computers, with dells reputation going down i think Lenovo will take over.

I love my laptop and the cheaper laptops Lenovo is offering will be more attractive in a downturn.

As said before, dell model, China market.

Strong product line up with the ThinkPad/ThinkCentre series. Movement into the consumer market with the Idea series (verses the prosumer/business with the Think series).

Ideapad is going to be successful. They also have just finished a wonderful year in a maturing market. Plenty of room to expand in the US and European markets. Also have a great opportunity in the African and already the dominant presence in China and India.

Already the leading pc supplier in the growing Chinese market, postitioning itself for world market.

ROW play already up 100% on the market but could be 200% in 08.

Farily "young" and fast growing computer company, decent prices, product marketed and sold nearly exclusively online...sound like another computer king? Good pick, good buy, hold on to this one and, who knows, maybe Lenovo could be the next Dell.
Recs
Great company with outstanding management not afraid to admit errors. EBIT margin has been down since aquisition of IBM, but a return to "normal" in 1-3 years will be a great tricker. Another bonus is that this is also a currency plays as most costs are in dollar and a large part of reveneue are in RMB(yuan). Stock price may dip on bad news (I hope) but a longterm winner
Recs
With the olympics coming in China and Lenovo being a strong sponsor it is going to help spread there name into the United States and they have continued to keep the quality of excellence that the IBM Thinkpad name stands for. This will help them stay in good graces with the business community.
It doesn't hurt that they are controling the Chinese market share either.
