Solid growth over the past several years, yet recently beat down. I expect it to go to $35 within the year.

LPHI is trading at a significant P/E discount¹ considering its prominent position in the life settlement industry. In addition it has grown earnings and revenue through the financial crisis². Not to mention a pretty substantial dividend increase.
It seems that the company has suffered over the past year from the fall in broad market valuations earlier this year, but hasn't rallied with the rest of the market. I surmise this could be from an investor misconception that the company operates with risks similar to an insurance company-- which it does not. Also LPHI has received negative publicity from Citron research. Concerning the latter, the allegations seem to be for the most part founded on weak evidence and poor conclusions from that evidence. This company has been around since 1991 and has prospered quite well in those 18 years. They currently operate principally in life settlements and avoid the viatical market (viatical being the 'used car salesman' side of the industry dealing with terminally ill clients).
If the company can continue to grow and push out dividends consistently, I look forward to price appreciation from increased investor confidence which hopefully will squeeze the 2.720mln shorts³ and give Mr. Andrew Left a slap on the wrist for trying to warmonger his shorts into profits.

They buy insurance settlements at a discount. It's a bit of an ugly business, making people off of death, but it's legal. Nice dividend. No long-term debt. Cheap earnings. Heavily-shorted, so I'm expecting a squeeze.

Why not live and have your money too? Tough economic times can bring desperate measures. As people watch their home equity lines of credit go belly up, a new source of fast cash is emerging: the sale of life insurance policies by individuals to investors for a percantage of the end-payout value. With profit margins thru the roof, little debt and rock solid investment returns, LPHI is a small-cap stock to die....errr live for.

Company looks very solid in financials, especially compared to industry averages. The difference that i see from this stock and other life insurance stocks is growth potential. The baby boomer generation is coming along and there are going to be a lot of life insurance policies to buy up. This stock is a real bargain at $16.00

Life Partners provides financial services in USA. More specifically it purchases life-insurance instruments for investment. This company is growing fast and has extremely attractive Return on Assets/Equity. With no debt to worry about it has a very good valuation (P/E = 8, on July 14, 2009). The dividend yield is a whopping 6% and payout ration is a meager 12%. Finally, 50% of the shares are held by insiders which means the management has a lot at stake.

ok this stock has no place to go but up.. look at the numbers and prove me wrong. but you know what? ive had a lot of money in this one and lost 3.5 points held it for the downslide and dumped more into it. happy now. but it could back fire like the second stimulus ... lol we'll see i'm going to see where it goes.

Is this stock to good to be true?

This company provides virtually gauranteed return on investment (through their product). Generally, all of the products the sell have a 15-20% annual yield. I only wish I had gotten into their products at the beginning of all of this crap... their stock? That is another story, but I think it has bottomed now.
