If I had to put all of my money in one stock I would flip a coin between Visa and MC.

Hooking up with apple and other payment technologies will creat more demand for mastercard and will allow them to charge a premium.

I've been a member since 1994. They have good customer service and good reasons to keep being a member, such as security features and various types of free insurance when flying or renting a car. Also, the interest rates that people will be paying on their credit card bills is a guaranteed source of revenue.

Taking advantage of the recent drop to call this an outperform for the next 5+ years. Mastercard is a machine when it comes to generating and accumulating cash. CEO Ajay Banga earns a 92% employee approval on Glassdoor, with Mastercard as a whole receiving a 3.7/5 employee rating.

A large worldwide market opportunity in payment solutions, proven cash production, and a strong culture are enough for me to give this a go in CAPS. Outperform.

strong leadership; large margins; near duopoly; int'l growth; apple pay; MF bbs
but watch: competitive industry and threats of paypal, amazon pay, apple pay (could eventually cut MA out or hurt margins)

.................No country has survived a more than 50% Government circular money exchange system. The rapid break down will occur within the next 5 years.

Great margins, great ROE and ROA, little or no debt, no credit risk, earnings adjust automatically to inflation, regular share buybacks, long growth runway in the 80+% of transactions still in cash. What's not to love?

Most of the world continues to operate with cash, MA will bring them to use plastic and this transition will continue for years to come. The big will get bigger (i.e. MA, V, AXP). IMO, not much room for others.

MasterCard is a leader in the payment processing industry with its sole close competitor being Visa.

MA currently has 30% market share within the industry! To put market share in to perspective, you know know that, according to studies, over 75% of Americans currently have at least one credit card and nearly 600 million people have a debit card.

Profit margin for MA is at over 50%, meaning (in simple terms) that they get over 50 cents for each dollar of sales.

Company has zero credit risk as they are only involved in the processing of CC transactions with merchants. Hence, this is a company that makes a whole lot of money with very little risk.

Because of the above reasons, and several others, I feel this is a strong company worth looking in to.

Greater than 90 percent of the worlds transactions still occur in cash. Talk about an amazing growth opportunity over the next 5-10 years. This company is very well managed. MA has expanded operating margin each of the last 4 years (and Q1 as well). Profit margins are widening, revenue is growing a at a clip of 15 percent a year for the last 15 years and we are seeing 19 percent bottom line growth thanks to widening margins and stock buy backs. Next to no long term debt. Free cash flow is exploding higher year after year. This company is a lean cash cow with a lot of room to grow, and a fortress brand name on top of all that. Seriously, what is not to like about this company??
