Here is one that is just going to do well because it is new and innovative. Short term, the consumer just wants the NEW product, and doesn't care much about quality.

Ex - The first series iPhone. (a far cry from what it became)

I expect just short term holds on this.

Doesn't sound like such a bad idea. In time for Christmas when people buy stupid things anyway why not something for their precious iPhone and Blackberry. The share price justifies buying. This could be a great spec play if it plays out right and people jump on this. At worst it goes to 2 a share but I really don't see that happening. I am entering a small position and seeing how this plays out tomorrow.

This company has a great pantented technology for powerpacks that recharge all the handheld gagets we all own. They are just getting mass production up and running and the stock has been crushed by shorts. I m betting the company will soon be returning the favor.

Medis is producing the best portable device charger on the market. The company's marketing effort will include major cell phone service providers who will sell the power pack with their logo. Watch for AT&T/Cingular to package the Medis power pack with Apple's iPhone. The Medis power pack is tied to the portable device market which is a great place to be. Watch it go, and grow.

First profitable commercial seller in the fuel cell market that will be a burgeoning field. Sold its first product to a tough customer, Microsoft.

MDTL finds itsellf alone in bringing the first fuel-cell power pack charger to market for portable equipment, with currently over 1 milliion orders from several customers. The pilot line in Israel is currently running; the first production line has been built by Ismeca, and is currently being shipped in segments to Ireland where it will be re-assembled and run by Celestica. Because of the order prospects the Board has given permission for final negotiations on creating two additional lines at the Ireland site. The insiders are heavily invested in the company, having poured millions of their own into it, and have never sold a share; the true float is only around 8 million shares. In fact, the short position is often larger than the float. The technology is unique, having been brought to Israel by a Russian emigre scientist. The closest competitor technology, DMFC/Direct-Methanol Fuel Cells, are not even on the horizon yet; no production lines being set up, by anyone, anywhere, something masked by the constant hype about them. MDTL has been incredibly transparent on just about everything; including their expected costs and profits (e.g, cost per power-pack to MDTL, under $5; selling to Enterprises at $9, who will re-sell them at $18 or so, or less as part of sign-up plans for things like cell phones. The chargers allow people on the move to use their cell phones and PDAs et all much, much longer; up to a max of 30 hours of continuous use equivalent for the most efficient cell phones and iPods.
They are going to have the portable, wall-socket less charger market to themselves by the end of 2007. Sometime or another there is bound to be the mother of all short squeezes as well, since the short position is so large, and so much of the stock is being held inccommunicado by the insiders.

This company develops fuel cells as auxilliary power sources for mobile electronics such as cell phones, laptops, and unmanned surveilance aircraft. The have just announced a contract to develop the latter for the Israeli Air Force. This is a huge new niche market area.

I like Medis. Leader in fuel cell technology. Products are going to start rolling out by years end. Big potential use in everything that needs a longer lasting battery.

Found this stock in last weeks BusinessWeek. Produces fuel cell powerpacks for Ipod and cell phones. Profitable next year (.50) and 1.50 in earnings in 2008. An analyst sees 100 stock price by 2008 because of explosive cell phone growth

the company has both military and civilian clients for disposable fuel cell batteries and with the rapid growth of cell phones in India and China will increase the demand for batteries considerably.
