The phase II results for Dimebon were spectacular, but they were performed in Russia. Although Russia is suspect in a lot of ways (politically, ethically), they have always valued science and I think it is highly likely that these result are valid. If they are valid, how can this stock not shoot up 10 to 30 times in say 3 to 4 years as they bring the alzheimer's drug to market. This is clearly a speculation play but the upside is huge while the downside is zero.

This company's fortunes are primarily tied to Dimebon, a drug that's been used for many years in Russia as an antihistamine, but which had been found effective in treating Alzheimer's. It's now in Phase Two testing, and so far it's been effective on all five endpoints of the tests. The fact that the drug has been used for some time for other purposes suggests it's unlikely to have negative side effects. Given the market for Alzheimer's drugs and the fact that there currently are no drugs which improve the disease, this is a potential blockbuster.
