Met has been in a "slump" before and has always rebounded. You will see this stock gain rather quickley.

The repricing of assets now that the markets have stabilized could actually result in mark ups over the next year now assuming this company didn't overhedge. Technically it also appears to be setting up to go a little higher.

Guilty by association and Snoopy can save your butt. Up 300% on no good news really. Market will likely start to decay more by October as Tarp money burns up.

Medium growth market share leader at reasonable price. Unless there is further blow-up on the company's portfolio, this company should survive and prosper in the long-term.

In my opinion, it's a good stock whose price has been dragged down by the recession.

Solid track record. Conservative business planning. Bad times make this a bargain for more than a three year window.

Insurance companies with large exposure to annuities will be at high risk for bankruptcy in 2009 or 2010. MET is my top choice but others are just as bad. Add in revenue declines, low interest rates, falling asset values and all it will take is a big natural disaster this year to push one or more insurance companies over the edge.
