I realize this may seem like trying to catch a falling knife right now, but I can't see how the stock wouldn't be meaningfully higher in two years. Great company, great assets, about 70% off its highs. I think at some point soon the economic downturn has to be priced in to this one, I think it's at LEAST an outperform from these levels.

Casinos are in the business of making money, by people who gamble money away. ALL OF IT. They make an average about 20cents per dollar. Not a bad profit, forget the economy people are still inside casinos, mgm is way too cheap not to buy, BUY IT

Trading at <10x earnings, I think the market has had too many drinks at their casinos. Even if we cut their 2007 earnings in half(which I think is too much), we get EPS of 2.55 in 2008. Apply a modest 18x PE and this values the stock at 45. Might not get their overnight...but it will get there!

So beaten down. Buy it here and don't look at it for 5 years. You'll have yourself a double and an S&P outperform.

Once we get out of a recession this bad boy is going to sky rocket. Humans love to gamble and MGM knows how to do it right. They own half of the strip with major projects in Dubai, Maccau and many more. The company is highly leverage but I don't consider their debt bad debt. It's good debt. Did I mention the new city center on the Strip? Once this gets going and the economy picks up the stock will get back to normal.

Casino industry has been pounded over last year. I think MGM is really positioning itself to take more market share during the downturn. They are using partnerships in order to avoid incurring too much debt.

Great brand, largest landowner on Vegas strip.

With the new renovations in all the MGM-Mirage Resorts it's kind of hard to judge by now but in the long run it will look to be headed in the positive direction. With a new resort in Detroit and Macau the company should be doing well because everyone would want to see what the resort has in store. Also the resort in Atlantic City and the City Center in Las Vegas will continue to boost the company's stock. Don't forget that MGM-Mirage is some corporations in Dubai in building a resort in Las Vegas. Things are only going to get bigger in the MGM-Mirage world.

MGM will do good this summer. It is the gaming capital of the world not just USA. As long as the high rollers are there this company will make their money.

MGM Mirage owns most of the well known hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. Despite the slowing economy, Las Vegas still boasts the most tourism and conference bookings and spending than any other city in the nation. They enter their slow season with new amenities opening each month to bolster business during traditionally slow times.
Gambling is one of the oldest trades, and will continue to thrive. When the economy begins to regain its strength, watch for MGM to outperform the S & P

This company is in the middle of constructing the largest project ever undertaken in Las Vegas. It should be completed in 2009. They have created a partnership with a Dubai company in selling half of the project and 15% of MGM Mirage stock. This has guaranteed the completion of the project. Dubai also wants MGM to go in as partners in a number of nongaming hotels in their country. There is a vast opportunity for growth. They should complete the project by the time the economy turns around and the country will be back in action once the torch is passed in January. They are winners and will prove it.

At this valuation, this stock has lots of growth and upside. Vegas is to adults as Disneyworld is to kids. They will constantly adapt and provide what each segment wants.
