Millicom International Cellular SA (USA) (MICC)
The Company is a global mobile telecommunications operator with operations in some of the world's emerging markets over which it's generally exercise management and voting control.

It has become a cellular world. Developing countries don't have to spend time and money string landlines when they can quickly put up towers to build infrastructure. Any market share in a developing country will pay off.

Millicom International is a great pick for long term investors due to the enormous potentail of the African markets. MICC has large exposure in the continent in cellular phone services. I would begin building a position in the mid $50 levels, again buying the stock in blocks due to the volatility.

Cellular will continue to grow especially in emerging markets. I like that they are diversified all over the world.

Millicom (MICC) faces the same long term threat of NII Holdings, not because they are operating in emerging markets but based on what I understand to be a short term business strategy.
A Luxemburg company, Millicom International Cellular S.A. (Millicom) could rapidly encounter major competition by new emerging markets companies backed by regional banks and their governments.
Millicom is being perceived in Africa as a company intent on making quick profits with minimum investments by building very small wireless footprints and then selling them quickly for a huge profit to any willing investor. In other words they are not investing for the long haul but almost speculatively--making very small investments with a quick turnover then moving on to another market to do the same again.
Consequently, companies financed by, let's say, "Chavez's" Bank of the South--: "An Alternative to IMF and World Bank Dominance"-- with a long term vested interest in the South should be considered by investors to be a major threat to the future profitability of this company.

Emerging market growth will continue along with the recovery and demand for cheap goods. Cellphones are required for fast growth in remote regions.

I like the outlook for deep emerging countries, particularly in Africa, where mobile use dominates. Flat-world economic opportunities will drive growth and demand in the decade ahead. Now selling at a good value, when market mentality is risk-averse.

foreign telecom growth with strong balance sheet

Mini markets are very interesting to watch. This company has fallen pretty good but in the future, this stock will bounce. Maybe a slow climber but in the end, it will place it's flag at the top of the mountain and hold it's ground for a while. If $85 is the target, count me in. Triple digits should be viable again for this company.

They are positioned for continued growth and I don't think cellular is going away any time soon :) GREAT price and growth.

beaten down too far for value

It has great position in the emerging markets. Long term this is a definite BUY.

Target - 85$.

Down big to close to a value price for international emerging market exposure to cellular. While telecom may be slightly more subject to interference than consumer staples, it is still not like owning an energy stock in Russia. Much safer, and with a model that might outperform the larger players in a down market.

3rd world cellphone growth. Everyones gotta have one.

58%increase in subscriber base and 37%increase in profit, yet the market took it down 20% today. Time to buy!

mobel tech is a huge status symbol esp in emerging markets.

This is a cell phone provider to the world. It is expanding in places that has no cell phone service. There is a lot of growth in this stock. I am sure it will rise in 2-4 years.
