MLHR is a well managed and fiscally conservative company. They are BEST IN CLASS when it comes to products and mgt. metrics. Growth will be seen in healthcare, education and international.

Increasing sales AND margins in a difficult environment; expanding international business now makes up over 20% of total sales; over $200 million in cash flow from last fiscal year, consistently rated one of the most innovative companies and best companies to work for...

The company is in control of rising input costs, in part because it is one of the leaders in energy and resource efficiency and these efficiencies translate into a strong brand associated with environmental and social responsibility as well as operational advantages over competitors that will be amplified by increased input costs. The company that has learned to do more, and do it more stylishly, with less, and recover those inputs by how they design the product in the first place, is going to come out on top.

In a recent quarterly report conference call management articulated aspirations well beyond establishing and maintaining a competitive furniture company:

"The vision is the same; to grow and diversify our business moving us from being primarily a US office furniture manufacturer to becoming a global habitat company with a formula centered around performance innovation."

... a GLOBAL HABITAT COMPANY centered around performance and innovation, trading at 10x earnings.

Yes, please.

Well managed company with high, increasing returns on equity and decent sales growth.

Market has beaten it down to P/E and P/FCF around 10 -- time to buy.

Does it have support at $23? I don't know, but any company that can create a cube is alright with me. White color jobs on the rise, this'll follow it into a bright future of box dwelling humans. Wonder if they've ever thought about expansion into home building....

With an innovative, stylish product line, and prominent foothold in the market, Herman Miller tends to be the company of choice for most corporations that have require the utmost comfort and safety for their employees, and achieve this by using Herman Miller office furniture. The products price is well justified by its durable construction, stylish design, and most importantly, the level of comfort. This company stands behind its product, and should peform well into its earnings announcment, beating the S&P 500 short term.

Superb company with great products. Currently trading at the low end of price and PE ranges while earnings growth in past couple of years has been 30%+. Company is exposed to a weakening in the macroeconomic conditions but this should be offset by international growth. Also noticed that dilution from an option overhang in the 1998-2002 period is likely to decrease going forward.

excellent company- market over reacted to adjusted earnings slightly lower than previous est. in part this was do to the company pumping cash back into production and new lines which should see good returns in the year ahead.

Financials are great, the company's history is fantastic, the structure is set for success, but I just have a hard time seeing it outperforming the S&P in the near future with more and more jobs going online and in homes. They need another industry-leading product like their world famous desk chair.

They issued an earnings report that wasn't bad, but it didn't quite meet expectations. So because the company missed earnings for one quarter, it's worth 11.65% less than it was yesterday? This doesn't sound quite right, so I'd say this creates an opportunity to buy it on the low side. Somewhat of a boring company, but that's often a good thing. They make money, pay a dividend, high ROE & ROA, pretty reasonable financial condition... Doesn't look to bad to me, particularly at a 10% discount...

In a world that is becoming increasingly design savvy and increasingly interested in the highlights of mid-century modernism, Herman Miller owns the rights to the pieces that everyone wants.
