I was fortunate enough to buy this at the IPO, from whence the value multiplied very quickly. This is a good company in a great position, but the stock is probably a bit overvalued. In the long term, there's great upside potential. In the short term, probably very little movement at all.

Operating leverage will keep increasing profitability.

Everybody needs it, baby!

Run and majority owned by founder, so shareholders should be well taken care of. Small float doesn't allow larger players to take a position, when this eventually changes it should provide a nice catalyst to the upside. Great product that is continuing to evolve and improve and should benefit by the increasing number of individuals that invest and manage their own savings.

The valuation is lofty, so I'd be cautious about buying this with real money. However, as pointed out elsewhere, the company has a moat, and it's majority owned by the CEO. It is hard for others to compete with M*'s offerings - "Morningstar style boxes" are used by just about everyone. The CEO also has ample incentive to run the company profitably. You might expect that, since M* rates other companies and funds on corporate stewardship, that they will try to do their best in that area.

This company is simply the authority at what it does. Recent moves to ad video reports have added a new means for add placement and thus small but new revenue stream. They contiue to find ways to make money while delivering financial insight to us all.

Best statistical web site for investors on the internet.

I'm a subscriber to the service.
That's about as good a vote a confidence as anything.
Great, common sense approach to analysis. Not afraid to tell it like it is without any hype or bias.
Additionally, the service publishes on a cutting edge medium. This is The Wallstreet Journal of the future. When print goes bust, Morningstar will be going gangbusters.
Recs
Revenue growth and expanding margins due to hunger from individual investors for independent equity analysis.
Recs
Best online portfolio system and finding new ways to reach customers.

Like majority ownership by CEO. Personally tried their products(which in my opinion beat Fool.com products)

this is an incredible company with a strong moat. It basically rates mutual funds and stocks. Despite sporting a loftly PE, the business model is sound in a growing industry. And with the acquisition of Ibbotson, Morningstar is becoming the most widely quoted ratings company in finance.
