We have less arable land and more people eating so fertilizer is the bridge to get more produce per acre and food for a growing world appetite.

Excellent cash position, industry will recover strongly in the next three to four quarters. Still far from all time highs.

Downthumb. Excellent cash flow. 34% 5 year growth rate. Plunging EPS, though. Good cash on-hand. Low debt ratio. Gross margins low and getting lower. Under severe pricing pressure. Stock price has been supported by efforts of CEO to sell company.

Assuming fertilizer prices rebound, Mosaic is attractively priced.

As the population continues to grow, the need for fertilizer will grow as well as we struggle to feed everyone.

Mosaic and others have dramatically cut back production of feed-stock and fertilizers. As economy slowly comes out of recession the farmers will have to start buying again this time with lesser supply. With 2 billion new people expected in next decade, no doubt they will require food and fertilizer.

Whether you like it or not, fertilizer is king. Why, because soils are eroding and we need to eat.

After paving over much of our prime farm land for suburban sprawl, the remaining nutrient poor land will need a fair amount of augmentation to generate decent yields.
