Potash prices and earnings seem to be near a cyclical bottom and will start improving in 2015. Mosaic is about to repurchase 10% of the float for a near term catalyst.

There is a long term worldwide demand for phosphate for argriculture. One African nation holds the majority of it, then Mosaic has another large share. They just bought CF industries phosphate business. This company is a key long term buy and hold.

Well positioned with the recent collapse of the European cartel to rebound as the price begins to solidify. The retirement of the overhanging Cargill shares will make for a interesting acquisition target also.

The EU cartel's break up will prove to be very short-term with a quick rebound in prices. Excellent time to begin building a new position in the name to profit from the bounce-back.

MOS is a good, solid company - Current ratio around 4, solid sales history, high assets:debt ratio, PE ratio under 15, consistent earnings growth, etc. I think there's a fairly good upside to this company, at current price around $58.60.

Global population growth means more mouths to feed which means more crops to plant, which means more fertilizer needed, which means more potash used, which means higher and higher earnings for the company by the same name.
