long term hold, strong mangement with stock options above current price ($14.00 vs. $16.00), the big guy from Walter decided to go with Mueller. Lots of rationalization potential, but little real information to model their economics. Great industry, with lots of talk about urgency to rebuild, but little actual incentive to make the investments. I think it will continue to grow at a steady pace and outpace the market.

OOPS! I thought that CAPS would add this for me automatically when it was spun out from WLT. Apparently, CAPS is not that smart. This is a play on the growing need for expansions, replacements, and renovations in the US water supply system. After a recent water main break in the city where I live, water system officials expressed surprise that the main broke considering that it was "only 100 years old." I guess the AVERAGE age of the major mains around here is 108 years. And Boston still has some wooden water mains - they must hope for no termites.

Water infrastructure needs massive overhaul. This is a classic Lynch business as well. Whats more boring than pipes and valves?

This company stands to gain from the coming upgrade cycle in US water infrastructure. They produce the equipment that is needed as municipalities and corporations make the upgrades that they can no longer postpone.

Water distribution will come into focus. The longer that states and municipalities delay addressing the (generally) decaying infrastructure, the larger the capital outlays will be. Regardless of the technology used or developed for purification, distribution is unlikely to change in the foreseeable future.
