The trend is showing a steady decline, some upturns, but no the less a downward spiral. Even though this is a famous company, people are becoming more aware of the perils of fast food establishments. The obesity in our society has gone to epidemic proportions. Changes have to be made that reflect a healthier more balanced eating patterns. People are showing a greater interest in foods that have lower fat content/caloric items. Many other fast food companies are changing their menus to reflect this trend in our society. Not only in the U.S.A., but globally. The community says outperformance, but the statistics show a different picture. The trend definetly shows a underperformance.

NATH is incredibly undervalued (because there are no analysts following) and has a proven ability to increase earnings quarter after quarter, year after year, and boasts an impressive cash flow and balance sheet.
NATH currently has a PE of 11, and EV/EBITDA of 8, crazy for a company that has beat earnings from the previous year's qtr for 16 qtrs in a row!
NATH has done great against the S&P over the last two years (compare it on a chart), and has been beaten down 40% by the market over the last 2 months, despite continued earnings growth.

Nathan's has great food, a good nostalgic basis being based from Coney Island, and is overlooked due to its lower priced shares. It will end up having at least a 10 to 15% return in the next 5 years or so.

Cheap eats. Should pretty much stay even with S&P, maybe a notch above.
Recs
Low market cap, no analysts following it, overlooked stock, low P/E, steady growth, steadily rising stock price, lots of untapped markets.

Not much float or volume, so the price can fluctuate. Getting in under $18 is a good price point for this sort of sustained, good growth with no big downside.

Sells fat food to a fat country, good steady growth.
