NCR's Teradata® data warehouses and automated teller machines (ATMs), retail systems and IT services provide Relationship Technology solutions that maximize the value of customer interactions and help organizations create a stronger competitive position. NCR occupies the first place worldwide for financial self-service with approximately 36% of the ATM market. Further, it has the second largest market share in the retail market.
The company has over 100 years of experience in the retail market and is working in the ATM market for over 30 years. This has made it to acquire significant market and technical knowledge. Additionally, it owns over 3,000 patents globally. Further, NCR has over 800 data warehousing customers, with leading names such as Sears, 3M, AT&T to name a few. It is expanding its customer base as the need for data warehousing is increasing in the present scenario.
NCR recently announced that, it has bagged a contract from Global Hyatt Corporation, which operates a chain of hotels globally, deployed NCR EasyPoint Xpress Check-In kiosks throughout its recently launched Hyatt Place chain of hotels. Initially it will install approximately 200 kiosks in over 100 Hyatt Place hotels across the US, facilitating the visitors by saving their time. During the first nine months of 2006, NCR completed four acquisitions and purchased the remaining 5% minority interest in one of its subsidiaries for total consideration of approximately $34 million, settled in cash. On the back of strong fundamentals and growth oriented strategies the stock will see an augment going ahead.
