EA should be done selling their shares .... They had over 3 million in Dec '09 and only 699 thousand as of latest 13G filing (end of June '10). Yes, the loss of WOW is a huge hit but I think its worth a speculative play down here. A 10% gap down this morning has almost been recovered as of this post at 11:20 .... last trade at $4.08 ...

They're losing money, but they have so much cash that I think they can hang on long enough to stay alive and start making money with new games to fill the WOW void.

They lost their contract with Blizzard so they decide to enter the MMORPG market with a WOW knockoff to compete against them instead. The9 recently invested in U.S. game developer Red 5 Studios (former Blizzard employees) and Hangzhou-based Fire Rain.
This company is definitely not going down without a fight. Also to consider:

GIGM picked up some cash today on an agreement to sell 60% of it's gambling software business to Mangas gaming in what appears to be an effort to bolster their position in the Asian gaming sector. With so much cash on hand, GIGM is likely to make some acquisitions in the near future, perhaps NCTY. This green thumb is a speculative play.

Speculative play that is heavily contingent upon surviving the Chinese government's lockdown on internet gaming. If this company weather's the lockdown, then it should see one of two things happen...either it blossoms easily returning to double its current price, or it becomes a buy out play for one its bigger and better financed brothers in the same industry. The math supports growth...with the Chinese population heavily into online gaming, the online gaming industry will simply have to grow...

The license for World of Warcraft for China was the company. Sure, it's *possible* they could transform their business with the FIFA09 licenses, but I don't see that type of game having anything close to the potential of the WoW-type games. They might be able to survive, but maintaining the current stock price seems unlikely and outperforming the market even less so.

Online gaming, WoW, China....what's not to like?
Oh yea, incredible cash on hand at a time when cash is king, a great lineup of new games coming up and oh yea a special cash dividend for stockholders of record Feb 1.
Great opportunity to get in on a great company with incredible growth potential.
