I heard a news report saying that there is a lot of oil in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. This large supply plus the continued spread of energy efficient vehicles will make this underperform. I'm not saying oil usage will be decreased dramatically, I'm only saying that it will not have a sharp spike like it did last summer.

As the credit crunch tightens drilling will be less attractive - oil prices are dropping, natural gas is dropping, and unless there is a hidden windfall in some kind of carbon legislation Noble won't be drilling much. Speculation fuels the drilling business, and speculators are running out of free cash...

Deepwater rig market has downside pricing risk. Multiple new rigs coming on the market, priced at +100 dollar oil. Companies will be forced to walk on contracts and subsequent litigation. The current pricing scenario is not sustainable.
