Rating a stock in CAPS consists of three components:

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other players to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

The bear argument that VOD and cable/fiber based on demand services are going to kill Netflix is a non-starter.

I'm a professional network engineer, have been for well over 10 years, and the bottom line is that the quality of the video experience delivered via physical media will continue to outper...More

I have been wrong twice on this stock (shorted at 17 and 21) but at $28 I gotta take another stab and try to recoup some of my lost points and accuracy.

25x PE in this market environment is rich. And the VOD market is loaded with competitors. I don't see how these guys are going to grow the botto...More

Now is the perfect time to get in on NFLX. I believe this company is currently positioned well and will easily adapt to what the future holds. Don't take just my word for it, look at this article:

Anyone who has downloaded media knows what a sloooow process it is. Moreover, the quality is not first rate. So, imagine that WalMart gets into the business. How many times do you want to see 40 Year Old Virgin? WalMart has zero taste. This is not an arguable point. They can't make any money on the vast number of movies available on Netflix. How many times do you think a movie such as La Ronde would get rented/downloaded/whatever at WalMart? Zero is close to the answer.
So why then did I say that Netflix will underperform the S&P 500?
Because Netflix's greatest asset is its huge (and gaining) repertoire of movies. The true Netflix addict is not only interested in the mainstream register of movies but also interested in world cinema. No way WalMart, Target, Costco, or any other clone of that ilk can ever match the diversity of Netflix.
Netflix's Watch Instantly movies list will just get bigger. The drawback is you have to watch it on a PC. Mac won't work. And you have to be a PhD to hook it up to a tv.
As people become more sophisticated about movies, get older, get bored with the Hollywood output and the so-called Indies, Netflix will be there with the goods.
Also, the people at Netflix aren't stupid. They see where movie watching is going. Some movies are available on Netflix shortly after the movies open (and then disappear from theatres in a flash) and that audience may hesitate in this charming economy to spend $10. or more for a half way decent movie. The popcorn's cheaper at home, too.
So, I believe in Netflix. I own shares of NFLX. I have a queue of more than 400 movies on Netlfix, on a program of 3 movies at a time, for less than $20. a month. To me, Netflix is a "raging bull."

The price was blowing up fast lately, but after the big drop it seems to be at a fair price. Blockbuster is scary competition since they offer additional services with their local chains, but overall I think that their current user base like the service and will stay loyal.
