its only a matter of time before video on demand forces Netflix to re-invent themselves.
Sure they are the king of what they do....but their isnt much value in being the king of poop.

1. This is a recession-proof stock. If things don't pick up, do you think consumers are going to ditch their $70+ cable bill or their $9 Netflix bill?

2. Their DVD-by-mail service is going down hill, but their 'Watch Instantly' selection continues to grow, and there have been talks that they may soon offer HD quality movies instantly through your TV or computer.

3. They have crushed competition and will continue to do so. Why go to the store to get a Redbox or Blockbuster DVD when you can watch it instantly from your home using a Netflix box?

4. Their 'Watch Instantly' option also opens the door to potential revenue through advertisements. Not to mention, if they expand their license contracts, they could also offer TV shows instantly, news, etc. The possibilities of the 'Watch Instantly' feature are endless. It just depends on whether management will deliver. Judging by their performance over the last several years, I'd say they have a good shot.

Business model is no longer relevent. Why wait for a movie in the mail when you can get it instantly via cable / satellite provider and/or at your local supermarket?
