SW is buggy and difficult to manage. Overall HW quality is a joke for mission critical systems. Holding on due to a near monopoly in the market. The introduction of any real competition in the market could be disastrous for them.

NICE has shown consistent growth over the past 3 years. It has no long term debt.

NICE Systems is a leading provider of multimedia logging and monitoring solutions. Its enterprise division contributing largest to the revenues, helps enterprises improve and leverage contact-center interaction with customers, improve contact center operations and support financial service trading floors while NICE's Security group includes its digital video logging business and its multimedia logging for government, law-enforcement, and aviation bodies.

The ongoing IT upgrade-cycle, a shift towards VoIP, and additional cross-sell opportunities in workforce-management endows NICE with adequate opportunities to nurture. With extensive solution offerings and channels in place, NICE is the clear leader in the business. Endorsing the same, its revenues surged 35.6% in recent concluded quarter, as continually growing demand for interactions solutions both in the enterprise and security sectors stole the limelight.

NICE’s customer base has tripled in the past few years and the company is looking further to expand its addressable market to include additional areas between the enterprise and customers. Also promising well for NICE is the continued strong foothold in the contact center space of Avaya, its most important channel partner. It is expected that grip of NICE’s expanded software package will continue accelerating in 2007 as the interaction between NICE, IEX Corp and Performix Technologies, matures from cross-promotion and marketing to product level integration.

On an expansion spree, the company acquired FAST Video Security AG in early 2006 and Hannamax Hi-Tech Pty. Ltd to increase its penetration and seek synergic benefits. Strategically moving, it is focusing on cost reduction initiatives, including contract-manufacturing agreements to improve its global supply chain and maintain healthy operating margins. NICE’s defensive characteristics envisages prominence, with unlevered balance sheet may act as a morale booster to the investors.

With good management and good numbers being put out quarter after quarter these guys are a buy.
