Just hoping another 25 years goes by without a huge disaster at a nuke plant. There are still no three eyed babies around Chernobyl, and Japan will recover, too.

Nuclear is hear to stay

I am catching a falling knife here. Hopefully I catch it by the handle. China is still in the process of building about 20 nuclear power plants. That is not going to stop because of an earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The fact that the Japanese plants have held up as well as they have speaks volumes about the quality of the facilities. Maybe I could wait a couple of days and get a better start price, but I am satisfied that it is sufficiently oversold already.

Rising energy prices will force the government to go with nuclear power.

For a nuclear energy business ETF that handles worldwide, this will have a long term place in my book.

Nuclear power is in a new renaissance, currently there are 26 reactors licenses pending at 17 sites in the US. Wind and solar cannot fill the future needs of the US and the political climate is swinging away from using fossil fuels for generating electricity. Nuclear is posed to fill the gap left as older power plants close.

Everyone's talking green energy. Well, nuclear is the best bet we've got until someone discovers that "silver bullet". I firmly believe nuclear companies, uranium miners, etc. will perform very well over the coming years.

I believe Nuclear Power will take off over the next decade. It is huge in Europe due to the lack of air pollution. Will the U.S. follow the trend? Time will tell.
