Annaly has been and continues to be punished for the sins of the mortgage industry. Even with the huge adjustment that wiped out many REITs, Annaly has performed well. Today the dividend stands at a whopping 15%. The stock is currently trading right at net book value. This is too good a deal for the market to ignore forever. Target $30 by the end of 2012.

with p/e <10, div >15%, this should outperform the s&p safely.

Hang on to this one. The dividend alone should out do the S&P. Even if the dividend is lowered due to rising interest rates next year (2011), it should out pace the yearly increase of the S&P.

just the dividend and I see no reason at this time of that being cut.

The mortgage backed security market has taken it hard. Probably harder than it should. There are some really smart hedge funds out there (quant and vulture funds - a lot of the same guys that bet against them) that see an opportunity in the spreads. These guys are in that game and seemingly have a good business model. The dividend is great and I'll re-invest it. Plus most mortgages that are going to be issued in the coming years are going to be pretty rock solid.

I'm impressed with their management results during and after the great recession. The dividend has been very impressive.

gov't backed securities with high dividends and no interest rate hikes to be seen.

There will continue to be a flight toward value and dividend paying stocks because there's no place else to go for decent returns.

I'm in it for the dividend. If the overall stock stays okay, I'll keep it. If it starts to tank too bad, I'll ditch it. I'm not very attached to this one. I do think that their model of using higher quality real estate is much better than some of the others in the reit business.

If you believe Real Estate has bottomed-out, there should be continued dividends.

Could benefit if/when we see QE2. Should definetly benefit if a major Freddy/Fannie bailout is announced on the 8-17. In the meantime, the 15% yield is pretty sweet.
