Growing countries like China and India are demanding large quantities of recourses to help expand their infrastructures. Since China and India do not have all of the materials they need, they will need to get it from somewhere. However, it is not where they get it that is important to this company, it is the fact that these materials need to be shipped and Navios is in the business of shipping. How Convenient!
Not only is there large earnings growth ahead Navios those future earnings come at a deep discount. The stock is down 40% from its high set in October of last year. It has a forward PE of 7.8 and analysts expect the company's earnings to grow 66% per year for the next five years, which gives it a very low PEG of 0.15. Add a nice 2.8% dividend, and this company becomes a recipe for long time rewards.

30% growth forcasted this year, good p/e and peg of .27.

The chinese steel makers are using up their inventories of iron ores to keep the shipping rates down so they can get a better price on the iron ore. They are bidding on a multibillion dollar contract with the australi mining giants. However, they are not going to last long, China is the fast growing economy in the world, they are the iron ore hungry giant. i am confident that the baltic dry index will bounce back to 11039 when the contract expires in April. high demand, low supply is going to push the shipping rates higher, only way to transport these valuable commodities such as iron ore is by shipping them. we talking 100,000-200,000 DWTs. can't fly it in the air right? exactly, too heavy...get the picture yet??? navios' Not only going to benefit from high demand in iron ore, but also from corn, bricks, sugar ...etc....shipments. revenues for navios will explode in 08'. Forward P/E is around 6.2, (price of the stock divide by the estimated earners for 2008) which makes this company extremely undervalued. Stock's goiing to out perform the market this year.

dry bulk shipping companies have better than industry dividends and superior growth in 2008.

come on!! look at it! ipo- $20, this stock has taken a beaten like all the other dry shipping stocks did when they hit the market then they ran up on increased shipping rates. rates have leveled out and now it's NM's turn to take a good run. this is no DRYS but it is a well managed comp that has current contracts well below value. hold through the bumps. this time next yr will be @ 30 easily. i was lucky to get this at 11.7

China needs iron ore and other raw materials to feed its growth. The only way to get the stuff there from Latin America is by ship. There are not enough ships to carry all the stuff right now. Rates will remain high for some time. It's about supply and demand. NM is small, has great fundamentals, has high insider ownership. It doesn't get much better than this, IMHO. And the name sounds so cool: "Navios". ;)
Recs
Dry bulk rates will remain at historically high levels through 2008

Navios Maritime Holdings Inc. is a great company and the next super Greek power in the long lineage of shipping successes from that country.
The Group's principal activities are seaborne shipping, specializing in the worldwide carriage, trading, storage and related logistics of international bulk cargoes. In addition, the Group owns and operates a bulk terminal in South America: in Uruguay. The Group also specializes in seaborne risk management and shipping advisory serviceswith offices in several countries around the globe. This industry as a whole will have continued growth and NM, along with DSX are good picks. DRYS may be a play here too. I think NM is best of breed.

I sense a run up in shipping these next few weeks\months.

dry bulk exploding

Sorry for the prejeduce but here goes... Certain European countries at the turn of the century (1800-1900) had realized that women can make as good of financial decisions as men, (not true in my virginia ruaral home). And these patriarchs decided to teach us girls how to make money and run the show, after all...we are all equal! I am not Greek, but German, and just half West Virginia, (if you live in the US, u no what that is), but with the declining male births, it became necessary for those who had just a bit of vision. So if a girl from Greece picks up a company and wants to run it...it is only because she sees profit. After all, us girls clip coupons and get the best deals at any store sale...to look great at a discount price...otherwise, we save money and put more in the bank. So even if the trading bumps around, (bought 54 @ $12.50 and 40 @17.50), in the long run, this woman is looking to make a profit and the choppy waters right now with China contracts is making things seem unsure...remember...it's a girl living up to her Dad's expectation/training.

Dry Bulk Shipping is a good industry
Recs
Dry bulk still has legs. Insufficient supply. Full shipyards to 2010. High demand for coal, iron ore, grain and minor bulks set to continue.China will drive but India potential underestimated. Pick stocks who manage risk well and have good forward cover through 2008 (70 per cent plus) and 40-50% already for 2009.
Recs
new ipo for a sub, earnings growing, industry demand contiues to grow at greater rate than supply
Recs
This one just keeps going higher!
Recs
This is a great value stock that is on the rise. The price is still pretty good to get some great returns.

I'm confident that bulk shipping wil growth for the rest of 2007 and much of 2008, at least. NM bears a low price and fast price performance that can put it higher due to the same favorable conditions that drive EXM and DRYS for instance. I just added it to my personal portfolio
