Nokia has lost significant portion of the smart phone business to competitors. They have started to think strategically how to regain it. Given the history of this company and the amount of experience they have along with their focus on Windows products, it will start regaining some of the market.

I think this stock has been beaten down to the bottom. I believe this company has done the necessary cost cutting and will rebound to $8-10. I would sell at that price.

Based on its dividend alone, Nokia looks like a good bet to me. But this company is more than just a pretty dividend. It's a free cash flow behemoth, and a "third alternative" to the iOS / Android duopoly.

I never want to call bottom on a stock, but this looks seriously undervalued, and a partnership with Microsoft should revitalize them somewhat. Excellent dividend. I'd say put 1-1.5% in here.

NOK and MSFT are too powerful a team to not cause upheaval and take share in the unsettled smartphone market

I bought Microsoft a few weeks ago, in part because I believe that their Phone OS will gain more market share than most seem to think it will, but I couldn't quite bring myself to pull the trigger on Nokia, at least with real money. However, I do believe that NOK will see a comeback from its currently severly beaten-down position. I worked in the cellular industry for 10 years, starting in 1983, and know Nokia's products to be of excellent quality. I also think the smartphone market could use a 3rd "real" competitor (sorry, RIMM) to Apple and the Android phones, and I think the combination of MSFT and NOK will make that happen. That's my call, and I'm sticking to it. It'll take a while, but I think by the end of 2012 we'll see NOK gaining a respectable share of the smartphone market...

Nokia seems to have finally hit bottom. While RIMM seems to be swirling in the bowl, Nokia finally appears to have some direction. Their new Lumia phones are beautiful and clearly differentiated from the iPhone and Android-driven iPhone copies. Windows Phone also looks like they actually created a great operating system. At the current price, with cash on hand, and large dividend, they only have to survive to beat the market. If they reclaim any significant share of the smartphone market, the stock will be a 6-bagger.

Stock has hit a pretty low point, and Nokia is starting to turn things around. Their new windows phones will provide a lower end alternative to conventional smartphones. Additionally, they have significant amount of cash on hand, and are offering a pretty impressive dividend to shareholders in the hopes of bolstering demand for their stock, which seems undervalued at this point.
