They are good and ... they have no choice.
And they are in the same boat with Microsoft.

Turn-around play. I think Nokia's Windows 8 phone is the sign of things to come.

Nokia is still in rebuild mode, still not hitting margin levels required to invest. But... They are making good products with a maturing OS.

Nokia is still struggling and the upcoming quarterly results might confirm the struggle with the weak financial picture of the company. However the lumia line is getting slowly a strong foot on the world market . In particular the emerging markets of the world. The introduction of a numerous lower budget lumia phones will help the company re-establish the nokia brand name in the consumers. Right now Nokia is carrying the windows 8 phone operating system almost on their own. And as the market share picks up in 2014 the financial picture of the company will also improve. The worst appears to be over by the end of 2013. So now is a good time to invest in Nokia.

In China the average disposable income is around $4,000, so if you get the iPhone for $700 and the expensive data plan, you are spending abut 25% of your disposable income on one thing. So if you can get the Lumia 920T for free from China Mobile (with a 2 year data contract), which has 350 million 3G subs with 750 million total, then you can expect to sell a lot of phones. Combined with the recent market share gains in Windows Mobile OS, NSN news coming out soon, the premier maps and location services package (locational services advertising is growing very fast), and a strong patent portfolio which makes them half a billion a year, Nokia looks to be a buy. Upcoming earnings could push Nokia over $4 a share and begin some upward momentum for a while for this stock.

I think Blackberry is going to take market share from Apple in the cell phone arena.

I have real money invested in this stock. Got in too early, averaged cost basis down to 4.20.

Will be a very long exit...but it will happen. The market is stupid.

NOK will rise again, it will take time. They make an excellent product - the Lumina 920 is amazing, I just got one last week. The guy at the AT&T store said it's selling well. We'll see where things are at after next couple of earnings and then going into 2014.

Nokia is been around such a long time and has spent so much on R&D. There is a reason Microsoft gives them 1 billion a year.

Pay attention to what teens are buying... they are gravitating towards Windows phones. Starting to notice traction with adults as well, especially former Blackberry users. Nokia is so beaten down, there's a lot of upside potential in playing this trend.

I think in the short term, Nokia will do well, especially in emerging markets, china,. india etc. Long term, I'm looking for them to be bought out or rolled into another major player (Motorolla? Lenovo?)

Long term, I think Nokia can make a comeback, but the Lumia is a failure in a market that has moved past Nokia. And now their international market share will take a hit with both Samsung and Apple making inroads into Asia. Sell...

NOKIA still has intl exposure and new partnership with MSFT company has long term track record. With the right product rollout it can be a winner of the year

I played this stock as a speculative buy in the fall, then sold it three weeks ago. I'm concerned about the dividend payment being dropped, but this looks like a company with all bets in, raising capital. Could there be something we don't know yet? The Lumina is supported by China in a part of the world where it is still a top name. This time I'm staying in for a longer haul. Should be an interesting year!
