+ Watch NPD
on My Watchlist
The Biggest drug store chain China just declared it's annual dividends of $ 0.32. At the closing price of $ 2.03 on 11/25/2013 that tranlates to a better than a 15% yield.......and as the easing of one child per family in China kicks in, it's growth will accelerate to better than it's currently reported same store sales growth of 10.5%.
NPD should outperform going forward, 5 - 15 years. I love buying shares of companies with such conditions; that they have huge market shares, profitable, and during the time when Wall Street ignores them. Think Walgreens as recently as just last year. Think Bank of America when it was just $6 several months ago. Nepstar (not to be mixed up with Napster) is one of such companies. Will the Chinese population stop buying drugs? Let's the future tell us, don't let the Wall Street tell us.
Recent div payment amounts to a whopping 29% yield for this year. China's largest drugstore chain. Balance sheet and cash flows look pretty good.Lee
I'm very interested in thoughts from the Fool community regarding this company. Largest drug store in China. The stock price has been a roller coaster since I've followed but with a large special dividend the past two years seems like a reasonable risk. I have purchased shares ranging from a high of $3.11 in July 2010 to a low of $1.53 in January 2012.
Great dividend - how many China Pharma stocks have a dividend like this?!!!
The CVS of China is about to break out
why won't my brokeage company let me purchase this company!!!!!!!!
I think Wall Street misinterpreted the health care reforms in China as a bad thing because of price controls on drugs but in the long run it should benefit Nepstar as more people will be in need of prescriptions and the drug manufacturers will bear the brunt of the pricing limits. The company looks like an investors dream on paper: no debt; generous dividend and uses the rest of the profits to grow the business.
It may outperform the S & P, but, comparatively to its sector partners, one must consider that China implemented national health care which means fixed rate reimbursements to Pharmacies. So volume of Prescriptions will not carry much weight if they are being reimbursed at a sub standard rate.
because there is no giant among the chinese pharmacies, and nepstar is quickly growing and in a good position to become this giant, via new healthcare reforms, and more old people in china
You will see!
Biggest drugstore chain in China and still adding more stores, which is why profit margin is low. Controls its own distribution chain. Same store sales increasing. China recently implemented universal health care which will lead to more people buying prescriptions. Also has no debt. I think is poised to become possibly the Walgreens of China.
Ill have to look back at this in a couple weeks
buy & hold for 1 month or so.....
The present price is depressed and business prospects look sound
Will grow with economy.
They are now beaten down but will respond faster than the upturn of the S&P
If it's the only large drugstore chain in China, it will be like Walgreen and CVS.
got in low and riding the wave...great possibilities here
get in @ $3.14
