Two words make the core of this recommendation.
Nissan. Leaf.
Less affected by the recent earthquake and subsequent tsunami than TM and HMC, Nissan is also releasing the Leaf, one of only a small handful of Electric Vehicles on the major markets. With American consumers worried about rising fuel prices, EV's will increase in market share rapidly, and Nissan is in the spot to offer them.

Toyota, up until recently has been the number one selling auto brand in the U.S. Now they have quality problems across the board, including problems in their Lexus division. Nissan does not have these quality issues and is poised to fill the void Toyota is creating for itself. I currently own a 2001 Infinity I30 (Nissan's luxury brand for the uninitiated) that is still running smoothly with over 255,000 miles on it (with the ORIGINAL powertrain) and before that I sold a 1996 Infinity I30 at 200,000 miles that is still running in 2010 and on its 4th owner with over 300,000 miles on it and before that, sold a1989 Nissan Maxima at 189,000 miles (was still running at the time). Of course my wife has a 2001 Maxima with 135,000 miles on it and it still starts right up every time....how many more tesitmonials to quality of a companies product's can one man give for large purchases...SERIOUSLY??? Nissan/Infiniti just WINS...GAME,SET MATCH!!

Really like this company. They make great cars and I believe with Toyotas recent decline they can take advantage of that market. They produce affordable, fuel-efficient cars and also the luxury Infinity's to rival lexus. I likey

Style sells cars, and Nissan is currently producing the best looking cars. Currently undervalued, low debt, profitability. Local dealer sales are strong and prices are holding.

Nissan has made many great strides in expanding its market beyond Japan and the US boarders. With ventures to Russia and India Nissan may be poised for a speedy recovery to the automakers woes, but there is no immediate turn-a-round in sight for this or any other auto maker. Keep this one aside and wait till the world economy starts making its turn up ward again.

Will rebound with market as consumers begin buying again. Great products.
