Back in 2006, Nintendo was considered dead in the water in the home console system wars. Sony dominated with the PS2 and it looked like the PS3 would be a slam dunk. But ever since the Wii came out, they have outsold the PS3, as well as the Xbox 360. Nintendo continues to dominate the portable consoles, with the Nintendo DS outselling Sony's PSP both in the US and Japan. Now with the Wii library expanding with games such as "Super Smash Bros Brawl" and "Wii Fit" to appeal both casual and hardcore fans, I expect Nintendo to beat market expectations.

Electronics are making a big advancement, more and more products are being put out between companies.

Nintendo was down in a hole no one thought they would recover from. Then they made the Wii. This console is the most sought after console even now. Parents, kids, everyone under the sun is trying to get their hands on one. The interactive game play is like nothign ever down before even people with the alternative consoles from SONY and Microsoft are still wanting one of these.

Great products will continue to come from this company!

Few video games properly utilize a system's capabilities which makes higher priced systems somewhat of an empty purchase. Somehow, Nintendo has made a system with great cool factor and actually makes a profit on each system sold. The demand for the Wii is right where Nintendo would like it to be. If Nintendo can produce quality games for the DS and Wii that are as fun to play as xbox or ps3 games, the share price will do very well.

The Wii has no signs of slowing down. As a game system for both young and old. They definitely can outperform.

Nintendo has cornerd the market right now with the Wii console and until they are challenged they will continue to have success

With Nintendo's success of the Wii and the steady releases by Nintendo in-house, it's safe to see them on top for years to come. Even now Wiis are still selling for over MSRP and still very difficult to find in store. The fact that Nintendo hasn't release a "successful" console in a while since the N64 shows Nintendo is back with innovative motion sensor technology and best of all, FUN. Now, if Nintendo can bring in non Nintendo hardcore gamers-it will be scary indeed.

Nintendo is marketing the Wii heavily and it's sales figures are among the best ever for a year-old+ console. Nintendo is also making money hand over fist in the fact that each accessory is sold separately. People love the machine and find ways to purchase what they enjoy. Expect larger gains over the next year or so and then a slight leveling off at about 18 months.

Based on Nintendo Co.'s recent offerings into the video game market, and continued success of their 1st party titles, I feel that this stock is going to continue to do well

Nintendo has a been around for a long time and since the company came out with the wii, it has been a sure hit. I wouldn't worry about new games because there wait time is not as bad as the PS3 and even outsold it. Not only is this a family oriented game console, it has targeted even single adults. Even with consumer spending at an all time low due to fears of recession consumers are still going out there to purchase Nintendo products. This stock has been resilient in this market and will continue to rise.

I don't know why I originally made this a short term pick. Nintendo is going to keep heading up for a long time.
The Wii has now been available for well over a year and the demand is very high. It's still next to impossible to walk into a store and buy one.
Nintendo has a strong line-up of games for the Wii scheduled for the next year, including the WiiFit which is currently selling like crazy in Japan and I think will be very popular when released in the US.
I also like the idea of the Brain Age games that are available for the DS. They should appeal to the casual games and help drive sales to people that wouldn't normally consider a DS.
My biggest concern for Nintendo is a lack of third party games for the Wii. I think that problem was caused by the other vendors not realizing what a popular console the Wii would end up being and will disappear over time.

I am 48 years old. I missed the whole gaming thing in my generation...yes even Pac Man was boring to me....I'd rather go outside and play sports than sit in some dweeb's basement and play video games..shows what a dinosaur I am! Any way, I have 4 kids, aged 21 to 11.However,I enjoy sitting inside on a beautiful sunny day (I live in AZ) and playing Nintendo games with my kids....I play guitar hero with my college boys, and play golf Wii with my eleven year old...these games are cool. More importantly, I see that they will always be a part of their lives (immense captives audiences for life...not a bad position to be in), and Nintendo does an excellent job in this space (kids seem to be very brand conscious about things, certainly more than I was as a kid). As a parental/societal matter, I still think it is pathetic (and harmful?) that kids spend so much time playing couch-potato games indoors rather than playing healthy activities outdoors, but I see the generational tide coming in, and while I may preach against it, I will ride it with my investment dollars.

Gotta love the Wii. More than a year of it's release they still cannont keep up with demand. That and look at the game list for 2008, it's solid. I wish I would have added this to my portfolio when I first read about the Wii more than a year ago.
